I recommend spending time walking around the area and looking at the statues containing the love story of Hong Jang and Park Shin. There are wooden decks installed throughout Gyeongpoho where you can take pictures, so many people visit and recommend it as a photo spot because you can take exotic pictures!

Gyeongpo Lake, which I visited when I went to Gangneung. Gyeongpo Lake, a large lagoon lake, has a well-made walking path along the lake that is good for walking. Tofu stew, soft tofu stew, and raw tofu are all delicious, but I personally recommend grilled tofu! After eating, take a walk along the nearby Chodang Pine Tree Forest Trail and your mood will clear up🍃 ⸻ 🌊 Anmok Beach – A sentimental seaside cafe street Anmok Beach, which is a 10-15 minute walk from Chodang, is a sentimental cafe paradise where you can see coffee and the ocean at the same time. It has a unique structure where Gyeongpo Lake and the beach are side by side, and the scenery keeps changing as you walk, so you won’t get bored. If you go around the sea → lake → pine tree road in that order, it's a perfect walking course. If you're lucky, you can see egrets or ducks, so there are many good spots to take pictures 📸

Terarosa✨ with a view of Gyeongpo Lake While Gangneung has several Terarosa locations, the ones accessible to pedestrians are limited 🥺. The Gyeongpo Lake branch is conveniently located right next to the Heo Nanseolheon and Heo Gyun Memorial Hall, making it relatively easy to visit! Since I went on a weekday, there weren’t many people, which made it perfect for taking photos. The taste of a café latte enjoyed while gazing at Gyeongpo Lake through the large windows was simply the best 👍. On the second floor, there’s a bookstore called Hangilseoga where you can buy books and souvenirs. The restroom facilities are also exceptionally clean! If you’re traveling in Gangneung and tired of the usual ocean views, I highly recommend visiting Terarosa Gyeongpo Lake Branch 😆.

🏞️ I traveled to Gangneung and Donghae in Gangwon Province, visiting Chuam and Mukho. Leaving behind the majestic wind turbines spinning atop Daegwallyeong Pass, I drove enthusiastically to Gyeongpo Lake and finally arrived at Gyeongpo Beach. The wind was strong, and the waves were crashing fiercely. 🌳 The tranquil Gyeongpo Lake trail was bustling with bicycles speeding joyfully. The pavilion in the middle of the lake added a charming touch. While the waves at the beach were rough, the lake remained as calm as a picturesque painting. 🌲 In front of Gyeongpo Beach, there are red and blue mailboxes known as "slow mailboxes." You can send postcards to the future here. 🌳 I spent a night at the Skybay Hotel in front of Gyeongpo Beach, enjoying the view of the sea to my heart's content. The next day, I headed to Donghae City. 🌲 Wanting to see the sea, I drove along the national road, but the sea only appeared briefly and then disappeared. Upon arriving at Chuam Beach, I found Chuam Station, which made me want to try a train trip. The path leading to Chuam Candle Rock was truly breathtaking. The sea's color was uniquely beautiful, and the rocks looked like sculptures. Crossing the suspension bridge was also quite fun. 🌳 Dojebi Valley Sky Valley and Haerang Observatory were also interesting attractions. Walking down the Nongoldam Stairway while gazing at the deep blue sea was delightful. No matter where you look, the sea is always in view, which is wonderful. 🌲 I also explored the Cheongok Golden Bat Cave, though I didn’t see any bats. The stalactites were beautifully formed, and listening to the sound of dripping water made the cave exploration enjoyable. 🌳 Unfortunately, I couldn’t visit Mureung Valley due to time constraints, but I definitely want to go there next time. Donghae City had quite a lot to see. The snow crab was delicious too. Promising to return someday, I headed back home.

During my trip to Gangneung, I took a walk around Gyeongpo Lake and Gyeongpo Beach. The path leading from the lake to the sea was absolutely stunning. The gentle sound of the waves and the breeze naturally calmed my mind. The scenery kept changing as I walked, so there was never a dull moment. The path to the beach was lively with many people walking, creating a pleasant atmosphere. There were benches scattered along the way, perfect for taking a break and enjoying the view. At sunset, the lake and sky turned a beautiful shade of red, which was truly moving. As night fell, the area lit up, revealing an entirely different landscape. The small accessory shops near the beach looked especially charming under the lights. These cozy shops added a lot of fun to the stroll. Walking in the cool night air was the perfect way to end the day. Gangneung's nighttime scenery was far more romantic and serene than I had expected. There are lanterns all over the road, so it's charming, and the scent from the trees was really nice, so I was able to heal. I recommend it as a place to visit in Gangneung.

Gyeongpo Lake, a lake next to the sea There is a good perimeter road for riding a bike with family and friends, as well as a walking path. Gyeongpo Lake is one of Gangneung’s representative natural landscapes, a famous spot where a beautiful lake and lush forests surround it. Since it is adjacent to Gyeongpodae, you can enjoy nature, history, and culture all at once. The circumference of Gyeongpo Lake is about 4km, and the walking trail is well-maintained, making it a great place to take a leisurely walk and enjoy the tranquil scenery of the lake.
