It looks good at different times and is said to be like entering the fairy tale world of Hayao Miyazaki. 4⃣Haikou Yundong Library I can call it one of the most beautiful seaside libraries! There are over 600 arcade buildings, some of which have a history of more than 700 years. Haikou Bell Tower A scenic spot in Haikou, it is listed as one of the 'Eight Sights of Haikou.' The bell chimes every 30 minutes and has been doing so for 89 years, making it a symbolic structure of Haikou. Arcade Snack Street A themed snack street within the Arcade Old Street area, it offers over a hundred types of Hainan's specialty snacks. The snack street blends Hainan's unique culture and cuisine, integrating elements like 'arcade buildings,' 'Li brocade,' and 'Qiong opera.' Transportation: Buses 25, 26, 43, etc., can get you there. Evergreen Park Haikou's Evergreen Park is a city park featuring garden fitness facilities and a plastic track lined with coconut palms. It's a great place for a morning walk, and admission is free. Holiday Beach Along the West Coast Seaside Avenue of Haikou City, you'll find a winding coastline with slanting coconut palms. Food Recommendations Try Hainan coconut rice, Hainan pickled noodles, fruit intestine noodles, Wenchang chicken rice, Qingliang supplement, coconut chicken, and more. Be sure to experience 'Dad's Tea,' which is the local morning tea, very traditional, and you can have a full meal for just a dozen yuan. Transportation: Take an early flight from Hangzhou to Haikou Meilan International Airport. From there, you can directly take a bus to the city area. We stayed in Monet Garden during our trip to Haikou. It was a wonderful stay with a cafe open by the hotel. 💡Getting the didi to drop you off right below thw hotel is pretty challenging but it was just a short distance, 2 mins walk from the main traffic street Haikou Arcaded streets itself is lined with historic buildings of Asian and European style. There are multiple junctions and you could shop to your heart content with all the affordable clothings, accessories. However, after watching the variety show “Summer Surf Shop”, we were attracted by the coziness and freedom of Wanning, so we squeezed out a day and made Wanning the first stop of our trip! 🗓Itinerary: ✨D1: Go straight to the airport after get off work, arrive at Haikou Meilan Airport at around 10 pm, and check in directly to Haikou Meilan International Airport Hotel (Terminal T1T2 Branch), which is 130 meters away on foot, to facilitate the next day's itinerary. The hotel is super close to the airport and clean, with a high cost-effectiveness! [Awesome] ✨D2 morning: I got up early and checked in at the Haikou Bell Tower and Qilou Old Street (the airport hotel was originally located below the train station, which was very convenient, but since I was already here, I might as well take a photo of Haikou's iconic attractions as a souvenir, so it was equivalent to spending an extra round trip), and immediately caught the train after checking in✅. We arrived in Wanning in less than an hour and checked into the Jundun Hotel (Wanning High-speed Railway Station). The price was not expensive, which was a little surprising because I booked it in a hurry and followed my habit of staying close to home (to facilitate the subsequent train to Sanya). The hotel is very close to the train station and became my first choice. The overall cleanliness, friendly service, convenient check-in and great value for money! D2 afternoon: Put away the luggage, take the equipment, and then take a taxi 🚗 to go to "Summer Surf Shop" & 🏄 (not knowing how to swim caused psychological fear. There's plenty to do in Haikou at night besides the sunset bus! So even if you miss the sunset, you won't be bored. 1️⃣ Pobolu → Mario Building [Photos 2-4] This place is perfect for taking photos! It's a free 🆓 online celebrity check-in spot. Since it's only visible from one side, make sure you get the location right! Otherwise, you'll go around in circles and not see it. Location 🗺: Phase 2 of Pobo Jiayuan (on Pobolu Road👆) 2️⃣ Funbay Zizaiwan [Photos 5-6] This is a newly popular internet-famous area. The most popular attraction is the "Silly Tree". There are also many beautiful restaurants + a bayside walking area. Location: Yu Hai Zhi Yue Restaurant (have the driver take you inside) 3️⃣ Haida South Gate Night Market [Photos 7-12] As night falls, around 7pm, you can head here➡ one of the most concentrated + liveliest places to eat in Haikou at night. The variety of food is similar to night markets across the country. [Highly Recommended] Hainan Pickled Noodles (you can ask for less vinegar) + oysters/scallops + tropical fruits (must be freshly cut. Some vendors will claim they are freshly cut, but put the spoiled ones at the bottom, so be sure to watch them cut before buying). [Avoid] Takoyaki + fried chicken fillet (I tried three places, and it was definitely the worst chicken fillet I've ever had) + unknown meats (really unsanitary). 4️⃣ Arcade Culture Street [Photos 13-16] Not far from Haida South Gate is Arcade Culture Street, about a 20-minute walk from the sea. Along the way, you can see the Haikou Clock Tower (it's beautiful at night with the lights on). Arcade Culture Street is a collection of food, drink, and entertainment (you must try the Hainan Qingbuliang there). You can also enjoy the arcade culture and light show.

In fact, our schedule this time was quite tight. Due to limited vacation time, we didn’t include Wanning in the itinerary at first. But after watching the variety show “Summer Surf Shop”, we were attracted by the coziness and freedom of Wanning. We squeezed out a day and made Wanning the first stop of our trip! 🗓Itinerary: D1: After get off work, I went straight to the airport and arrived at Haikou Meilan Airport at around 10 pm. I checked directly into the airport hotel which was 130 meters away on foot. 😴 D2: I rushed to check in at the Haikou Bell Tower and Qilou Old Street early in the morning (the airport hotel was conveniently located right below the train station, but since I was already there, I might as well take a photo of Haikou's iconic attractions as a souvenir, so it took me an extra round trip). After checking in✅, I immediately caught the train🚄. We arrived in Wanning in less than an hour, and we were a little surprised when we checked into the Royal Crowne Plaza Hotel (Wanning High-speed Railway Station), because we booked it in a hurry and followed my habit of staying close to the hotel (to facilitate the subsequent train to Sanya). The hotel is very close to the train station. It is clean and tidy overall, the service is warm, and check-in is very convenient. It is very cost-effective!
