West Sumatra Wonders: From Islands to Valleys
📍Padang gave us more than just a holiday, it was a journey through nature, heritage, and heart.
We started with a peaceful escape to Pagang and Pasumpahan Islands, where clear turquoise water and white sand made time stand still. Back in the city, the Masjid Raya Sumatera Barat welcomed us with its iconic Minangkabau architecture — elegant, spiritual, and unforgettable.
Then came the road trip. At Istana Pagaruyung, we stepped into the royal past of Minangkabau culture, surrounded by stunning carvings and traditional charm. The winding roads of Kelok 9 took our breath away, and Harau Valley felt like a hidden world with cliffs, waterfalls, and lush green all around.
We added a little fun too — horse rides by the beach and muddy ATV tracks through the hills gave the trip its adventure edge.

📌 Travel Tip
🚗 Hire a local driver with knowledge of the region — most gems like Harau Valley and Kelok 9 are hours apart, and having a local guide makes the journey smoother, safer, and richer in stories.
