[Okinawa Kumejima] Hate no Hama, a mysterious beach that appears at low tide
Kumejima is a remote island in Okinawa that is known only to those in the know.
It is about 3 hours away by ferry from the main island of Okinawa, and at low tide, a mysterious sandbar (sandbar island) that appears on the sea about 15 minutes by boat from Kumejima is "Hatenohama".
It is a long and narrow island with a total length of 7 km, and is composed of three beach islands, "Maehama (front beach)", "Nakanohama (middle beach)" and "Hatenohama" to be precise.
The boat docks at the central "Nakanohama".
Temporary toilets and temporary tents are set up.
The pure white sand stretches as far as the eye can see, and the turquoise sea spreads out, and its beauty is said to be the best in the Orient.
At low tide close to the spring tide, beautiful sand patterns on the seabed appear, and if you're lucky, you can even encounter sea turtles.
