Today I went to the Dongdaemun History and Culture Park in Seoul, South Korea. It turns out there is a new park called DDP. There were different art exhibitions and activities along the way, but I was sorry to stay indoors today. DDP, the park has no new big exhibitions today, only a few exhibitions, which will open tomorrow. I tried the Korean cheese grilled chicken, which was excellent on the teppanyaki grill, and the staff could speak English. After eating, I went to the street to walk around. It was believed that the name Heunginjimun was too weak in terms of feng shui, so four characters were needed to bolster its aura. The gate was built during the reign of King Taejo and was the eastern gate of Hanyang. It was renovated during the reigns of King Danjong and King Gojong, becoming a double-sided gate tower with five rooms on the front and two on the sides. To protect the gate, a crescent-shaped walled town was built around it, making it the only gate among the eight gates of Seoul with such a design. Today, Dongdaemun is a bustling commercial area. To truly appreciate its beauty, one must climb up to the Fortress Park. This wall, which has guarded Hanyang for 600 years, has now become a park. On this #Seoultrip, I stayed at Dongdaemun and had to transfer at Dongdaemun, so I took a picture while passing by #ddp. I saw people walking along the nearby fortress wall and many exhibitions were closed due to the Lunar New Year holiday, but just walking around the DDP building and looking at the exterior from the outside was nice enough.
