[2025 Vigan Attraction] Travel Guide for Hidden Garden (Updated Jul)

It was a trip to Vigan, Philippines with friends. We explored this charming city and discovered the best spots for photos and cultural immersion. We arrived in Vigan and immediately headed to Calle Crisologo, the heart of the city’s heritage. Walking down the cobblestone street felt like stepping back in time. The preserved Spanish-era houses 🏠 are perfect for taking pictures during the late afternoon when the sunlight softens, creating a warm glow. We stayed until the evening to capture photos of the street lit by antique lamps, a magical experience. 📍Calle Crisologo, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur We also visited Bantay Bell Tower, a historic watchtower offering panoramic views of Vigan and the surrounding countryside. The sunrise here is breathtaking 😍highly recommended for photographers and history enthusiasts alike 🙌🙌🙌 We then explored Hidden Garden, a peaceful haven filled with lush greenery and native plants🪴 We enjoyed taking pictures amidst the tropical surroundings and trying their refreshing Ilocano drinks at the on-site café 🍹 📍Bantay Church, Bantay, Ilocos Sur At night, we visited the Vigan Dancing Fountain in Plaza Salcedo. The lights, music, and water choreography were mesmerizing and made for stunning video captures. We’d recommend going early to get a good spot for viewing. Before leaving Vigan, we stopped by Vigan Cathedral (St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral). The grandeur of its architecture and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit for photos 📸 and quiet reflection. Hidden Garden features a restaurant and a cafe in a relaxing setting filled with tropical plants and flowers, carved wooden sculptures, and lots of clay pots. Looking for an exciting family trip to the Philippines? Why not going to the Northern part of Luzon and visit Vigan in Ilocos Sur? Though the weather is scorching hot when visited, I enjoyed the trip learning more about the city’s rich culture and history. Calle Crisologo is the place known for more than a hundred-year old Spanish houses that has been preserved until now. Though car parking is a challenge here, do not hesitate to ask the locals and they are willing to help you finding a safe place to keep your car/van. 🕰️Business Hours: anytime though some stores close at 8 pm 📍Address: Crisologo St. Vigan City 💞Reasons to Recommend: Chance to taste bagnet and Vigan chorizo, empanada, and sinangloan. You can feel the Spanish era, learn more about the Philippine history. Getting There - from Cubao, take a bus (Partas BusLine) and purchase a ticket heading to Vigan. Attractions - Bantay Church, National Museum, Padre Burgos’ ancestral house, Hidden Garden, Syquia Mansion Museum, Ban-aw Resort Hotels - my father is from Ilocos Sur so we didn’t book a hotel.

Vigan’s so called Hidden Garden is not really hidden at all. Well, it is way out from the city center, and one needs to either ride a tricycle or hire a calesa to access it, so I guess it is partly hidden in a way. The sprawling garden started out as a personal venture for retired engineer, Francis Flores. It started to really blossom and guests started to pour in.
