A Tranquil Energy Spot in the City Center: Toyama Hie Shrine
Located in the heart of Toyama City, Hie Shrine is an ancient shrine with a history spanning over a thousand years. Dedicated to Sarutahiko-no-Mikoto, it is revered as a guardian deity for good fortune, warding off misfortune, and ensuring career success. Just a ten-minute walk from Toyama Castle, this serene corner surrounded by lush greenery offers a peaceful retreat.
During my visit, I happened to encounter a crowd of worshippers. The stone steps and vermilion torii gates of the shrine looked particularly majestic under the sunlight.
Every May, the "Sanno Festival" is one of Toyama's most significant traditional events, bustling with activity and showcasing the charm of local culture. If you find yourself in Toyama, take a moment to step into this city shrine and experience the quiet strength unique to the Hokuriku region.
