Luoyang Hilton Garden Inn Review: New District, New Look, and Unique Features
The Luoyang Hilton Garden Inn has opened at an impressive speed this year. I had the opportunity to experience this new hotel during a weekend trip to Luoyang. Here are my thoughts on a few aspects.
Location:
The hotel is located in the CBD of Luoyang, which is in the new district. It takes about 20 minutes by car to get to the old town. As a new hotel, its local reputation is still growing. From the perspective of travel convenience, its location may not be the most ideal, but it has the unique development potential and surrounding environment advantages of the new district.
Room Upgrade:
Hilton Diamond members received a straightforward room upgrade to a deluxe suite. However, on the day of check-in, the originally assigned suite had a strong smell of renovation. Considering the overall living experience, I was finally moved to a deluxe king room with a sofa bed, although the sofa bed was not useful to me. Considering that the hotel is newly opened, this minor issue caused by renovation is acceptable, and the hotel's positive attitude in coordinating room changes is commendable.
Decor:
The room, public areas, and restaurant decor are consistent with the new Garden Inns opened in the past two years, presenting a standardized model. The overall decor quality is good, successfully avoiding a cheap feel and fitting well with the hotel's positioning and brand image. Some areas of the restaurant are designed to be "compact," which may feel a bit cramped when setting up the table, but it also reflects the exquisite design concept.
Breakfast:
The hotel breakfast offers Luoyang specialties such as beef soup and potstickers. The potstickers are freshly fried, with plenty of filling and a delicious taste. Although the beef soup is slightly inferior to the famous local old shops, it is still a unique flavor in the hotel breakfast, allowing guests to experience the unique charm of Luoyang cuisine. Surprisingly, this is the first time I've seen cheese offered at a Garden Inn breakfast, which is a small highlight among similar hotels, adding more variety to the breakfast options.
Overall Review:
As someone with previous hotel industry experience, I find this hotel to have excellent service with no obvious flaws. When there is a problem with the room, the staff can quickly and properly handle it, showing good professionalism and service awareness. Considering the hotel location, non-members may find the rack rate not particularly cost-effective, but if you can get a special rate through a special channel or have a Gold or Diamond membership, the overall experience is quite good and worth recommending to travelers in need.
