Yanjin County is located at the junction of Yunnan and Sichuan in northeastern Yunnan. It borders Yun County, Gong County, and Weixin in Sichuan in the northeast, Yongshen County, Xiyu Daguan, Yongshan, and Suijiang in the south, and Yushui Fu City in the north. Yanjin is known as the "narrowest county town" because of its extremely steep terrain. It is mainly built in a narrow river valley with cliffs on both sides and a river flowing in the middle. There is only one main road in the entire county town, and all the houses are built on both sides of the river and connected by bridges. The exterior walls of the houses in Yanjin are very unique and colorful, extremely eye-catching, and have been described as a "dopamine county" that came out of a cartoon.
