Got Lost in Gombaeryeong Forest and Honestly, I’m Not Even Mad
#summervacay Okay, so I randomly ended up in Gombaeryeong Forest while road-tripping through Gangwon-do, and let me just say, this place is magical. Like, Studio Ghibli-level vibes. I wasn’t even dressed for a forest walk (sneakers were barely holding it together), but the moment I stepped in, I couldn’t stop exploring.
It’s super chill, trees for days, soft light sneaking through the branches, and that fresh mountain air that makes you forget you have emails. There’s this peaceful quiet, but not creepy quiet, more like nature saying “yo, relax.” Saw a squirrel. Named him Kevin.
There aren’t any huge signs or tourist traps, which is honestly perfect. Just you, the forest, and maybe the sound of your own wheezing if you take a steep trail (worth it though).
If you’re anywhere near Gangwon-do, make a detour. Gombaeryeong Forest isn’t loud or flashy, it’s just pure calm. Bring snacks. And maybe bug spray. But seriously, go.
