Baji Bridge is located at the east end of Baji Bridge Street in Shaoxing City. The structure of the stone bridge is shaped like an eight-character, which cleverly connects the three small rivers that converge here. This area still retains quaint houses and has fewer tourists. Compared with Cangqiao Street, it is much less commercialized. Standing on the bridge and looking at both sides of the bank, you can occasionally see locals washing clothes by the river. If it happens to be a rainy day, the wet stone road after the rain, the pedestrians holding ancient oil-paper umbrellas in the alleys, and the black-sailed boats swaying under the bridge, the imagination of the Jiangnan people in the mind in the past can be visualized here little by little, and the impetuous mood can also calm down. Shaoxing in summer is like a furnace. I couldn't walk anymore after 1 o'clock, so I found a beverage shop on Cangqiaozhi Street to rest, and then I found this really beautiful and cool shop-Shanhui Tea Food. The moment I pushed the door with sweat all over my head, the cold wind from the air conditioner wrapped in the fragrance of tea came towards me, which was a signal of salvation in summer~ The decoration of the shop is quite Chinese style, which matches the temperament of Shaoxing very well. The space is actually quite large. Looking around, many seats can have private space without being disturbed, which is suitable for chatting and resting with friends, or for yourself to be alone. The shop sells coffee, tea, melon seeds, and special blends. The price is not particularly expensive. I ordered a cup of Chunshanxuetu, which is full of beauty and refreshing. There is a terrace facing the river in the shop, which can seat about 3 tables. It will be hot during the day, but it should be quite comfortable to come when the night breeze is slightly cool at night. It was an excellent choice with great value for money, comfortable facilities, and friendly staff. If I visit Shaoxing again, I will definitely stay here again. I booked Little Forest Hostel 小森林环保旅舍 through Trip.com, and the price for a bed in a 6-person female dormitory was 14,500 KRW per night. However, I used my saved Trip Coins to pay, so I stayed for free, which made me very happy. Despite the low price, the facilities exceeded my expectations. In fact, they were much better than some European hostels where I paid 60-80 euros per night for a 12-person dormitory. I was assigned a lower bunk in the 6-person female dormitory, and on the day I stayed, there were only three guests in total, making it relatively quiet and comfortable. Each room is equipped with a bathroom, shower, personal lockers, and indoor slippers. Additionally, on the second-floor hallway, there is a locker with free amenities available for use. The price is incredibly affordable, and they even provide Chinese-style soy milk (豆浆) and bread for breakfast! With such services and facilities at a price of around 10,000 KRW, the value for money is unbelievable. Moreover, the first floor of the hostel is a bookstore, giving off a literary vibe. Although I didn’t read any books, I felt smarter just being there. On the second and third floors, you can look out the windows to see lush green trees, which is truly relaxing. It made me realize why this hostel is named "Little Forest." If I visit Shaoxing again, I will definitely stay at this hostel.
