Miyama Kayabuki no Sato is an old village in Miyama, kyoto. The house is different from others, Kitayama Style Farmhouse, the roof is on top with kaya, so we called "kayabuki". In front of the village, there are a lots of Soba, the flowers. In side the village, there is a post office box. In the opposite of the village, there is a river called "Yura river" that flow from the valley, which people like to go camping here in the summer. This village still has people live here. There are only 2 houses that open to be homestay which is Matabe and Hisaya house. So if you want to sleep here, you might have to book about 6 months ahead. Some house is changed to be a cafe called Cafe Saika and Milan cafe. Other than that, it has Kamakura Shrine on the top of the village. You can go there and make a wish and look the view of the village on top. And also, there is Chii Hachiman Shrine, people believe that god will blow the bad things and bring back the happiness.If you want to know more about this village , you can go to Kayabuki no Sato Folk Museum. The museum showed the historical information and the thing used in many many years ago.
