You can also buy delicious naan in Kuqa City that night. You can't drive by yourself, there is a helicopter 🚁 experience, you can also take a shuttle bus or pay for a camel ride (200-300r round trip). The whole journey is about 2-3km, and the play time is 3h+, and the original road is in and out. Because of the narrow terrain, it means a bit of Antelope Valley. The disadvantage is that pedestrians have to keep giving way to camels, and dust is flying. ⛰️Wensu Grand Canyon (P12-14) | 🎫36r (9:00-20:00) Also known as the "Tianshan Tuolmu Grand Canyon", it is located in Wensu County, Aksu. You can drive by yourself (SUV) or take a shuttle bus (💰60r), it is recommended to drive by yourself, it will be more free, you can drive to places without restrictions (but try to follow the rut, if the car is trapped, the towing fee is several hundred), you can also rent a off-road vehicle at the entrance of the scenic spot. But Wensu⛰️ will be more vast, rough and primitive than Kuqa Canyon; Kuqa Canyon is narrow and long, and it will be more beautiful. #chinatravel Okay so the Red Stone Forest in Xinjiang is straight up wild. It looks like someone just dropped a bunch of giant red sculptures in the middle of nowhere. The rocks are all super dramatic and spiky with these weird shapes that make you go “wait what am I even looking at?” in the best way. The vibe is super peaceful too. Not a ton of people around which makes it feel like you’ve discovered some secret alien planet. We wandered through the formations for a couple hours just taking it all in and snapping pics. Every turn felt like a totally new scene. There’s not much shade so definitely bring a hat and some water if you’re going during the day. And wear sneakers because you’ll want to climb around a bit. Honestly it was such a cool surprise. If you’re anywhere near Kuqa or exploring southern Xinjiang this spot is totally worth the detour.

#chinatravel If you ever find yourself wandering through Xinjiang and want to feel tiny in the coolest way possible, definitely check out the Kuche Grand Canyon. This place is insane. The rock formations are all jagged and twisty like some kind of alien movie set. We went super early to beat the crowds and it was totally worth it. The light hits the canyon walls just right and makes everything glow red and orange. You walk through these super narrow paths where you literally have to squeeze sideways. It’s like nature’s own obstacle course. There’s a bit of climbing and ducking involved so wear decent shoes and maybe skip the big backpack. Also bring water because it gets pretty warm. Honestly it was one of the most unreal spots I’ve seen in China. If you’re into hiking or just want a wild backdrop for your pics this place will not disappoint. Total hidden gem.
