Suma Sea World, a new attraction opening in June 2024, offers one of the few spectacular orca shows in Japan. It's so popular that people are reserving spots even about two hours before the show starts. If you want a good seat, head there early. It's best to arrive at least 30 minutes before. Clearly, the mountain was out of the question. So, a gloomy day meant a perfect opportunity to visit an aquarium, and it turned out to be a fantastic alternative! I headed to Kobe Suma Sea World (神戸須磨シーワールド), and like many attractions in Japan, they truly excel at creating an immersive experience with their layout and background music. As an Animal Crossing player, I spotted so many familiar "old friends" from the game – it felt like a delightful break through the fourth wall! As the only Japanese castle designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s absolutely worth seeing. 🍴 Dinner | Ichimen A revisited Lanzhou hand-pulled noodle spot—their lamb skewers are also fantastic! 🏨 Candeo Hotels Kobe Tor Road The hotel is right across Motomachi Station, super convenient. Plus, it has free hot springs—perfect for soaking away the day’s fatigue every night. Only downside: it gets a bit noisy when trains pass by. 💰 Money-Saving Tips ① From Kansai Airport to Kobe, take the high-speed boat—just ¥500 one-way for international visitors. From Kobe Airport, take the subway to Sannomiya. Same travel time as the bus but over half the price! ② For Arima Onsen, get the "Subway 1-Day Pass + Taiko no Yu Onsen Ticket" combo for ¥2,600. ③ For Awaji Island, get the Kitaura Bus 1-Day Pass (Oiso Version) for ¥2,400.

There has never been a whale like this before. You can only see the killer whale at Gobae Smart Sea World. As the weather gets colder, the water splash is a little scary, but I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try it!

It was renovated from Suma Aqualife Park to Suma Sea World ⚐ﾞ The show was amazing! The killer whales and dolphins jumped around like crazy 🐬!! If you were on the lower level you'd definitely get soaked 💦 At the shop near the show pool you can eat black and white soft serve ice cream with a killer whale motif 🍦 Be careful as the area around the mouth will turn black ⚠︎︎ There are toilets nearby so please check them after you've eaten 〰️. It's just been renovated and reopened so the building and facilities are very clean! Sea World opened in Suma, Kobe in June 2024. It was just opened and it was crowded, so I got a ticket with a specific date and time. This is the only place in Western Japan where you can see killer whales. The main attraction is the dolphin and killer whale show, and I felt that there wasn't much else to see, but the dolphin and killer whale show alone is very satisfying! The killer whales' water splashes are incredible! You might get wet up to about the first 10 rows! There are restaurants and a food court, but it was crowded on the day we went. This aquarium has been renovated and reopened. The powerful killer whale show is simply amazing. The dolphin show is also very high quality. I was surprised. There are not many fish on display. To enter the killer whale restaurant, you need to get a ticket early in the morning. I would like to try the killer whale restaurant someday.
