KOKO HOTEL PREMIER KUMAMOTO THE MOMENT
#Emotional Cafe
The restaurant THE MOMENT (ザ モーメント) is located on the 14th floor of Coco Hotel, which is located in the Sakuramachi building, the bus terminal of Kumamoto. It seems to have no direct connection with the hotel, and it seems to be operating food and beverage in an affiliated form.
The official website is different, and the landline number is different, and there is no connection. Since it is the main restaurant that handles everything from breakfast to dinner, it is definitely a win-win relationship. I will visit with a reservation at 12 o'clock.
The bus side goes up to the 2nd floor from the terminal, and if you take the hotel-only elevator, you can directly access the 14th floor restaurant, which is a convenient route. As soon as you enter the restaurant, the wide-open corner window view catches your eye. It is a restaurant with a view.
Maybe because Kumamoto does not have tall buildings, it boasts a city view that is as good as the 40th floor of Tokyo, even though it is on the 14th floor. Kumamoto Castle and Kumamon are within a short distance. The view is passable. There was no information about afternoon tea on the official website.
I had a reservation for a lunch at 2pm, so I hoped the portions wouldn't be too large. The staff were very polite, so the good first impression continued with the view.
They pour delicious water. They give you the main menu, but since there's a reservation for the next one, I regretfully pass on it. Savory dishes are served first, packed tightly in a circle dish. There are 7 kinds of savory dishes in total, including 2 kinds of salad.
The texture of the baguette sandwich is just delicious. The potato soup is also good, and the quiche is a work of art. The two kinds of salads are so delicious that I almost threw the plate away. I found myself eating the gratin and croquettes deliciously.
Even though I drink it with water without alcohol, the dishes themselves are complete without any problems. I finish my meal feeling refreshed, and they clean up the table. The cutlery is set again, and the black tea we ordered is also set.
Next, a three-tiered tray is brought in. There are a total of 9 kinds of sweets. Seasonal sweets using Amaou jam and Amaou strawberries follow. The cream tart topped with plenty of strawberries was a work of art. The scones are also delicious.
The strawberry panna cotta and strawberry macaron are also good. The moist tiramisu was excellent, and the desserts, including financier, nama chocolat, green tea chocolate, and baked sweet potatoes, were fantastic following the savory. Then, the head chef comes out to say hello.
It was 12 o'clock on a weekday when about 4 tables were seated. He greeted each table warmly and said that on this day, it was snowing in Kumamoto, and if even 1 centimeter of snow piled up, traffic would be chaotic for the Kumamoto citizens.
The reason was that no one had any experience driving on snowy roads or was inexperienced. After a short conversation of about 2~3 minutes, we enjoy the time until the end. Since I'm going to see my Kumamoto friend at Cocosa, he kindly tells me how to get there. Thank you.
