🥩 Lawry’s The Prime Rib — Old-School Glamour & Classic Cuts
Dinner at Lawry’s felt like a proper night out—elegant, unhurried, and all about the classics. The restaurant sits right in the middle of Orchard, but once you’re inside, everything slows down. Big windows, plush leather booths, white tablecloths, and that quiet hum of silverware and soft jazz—it’s got that timeless, old-world steakhouse charm that never goes out of style.
We came for the prime rib, and it didn’t disappoint. The beef was carved tableside from the signature silver cart (which honestly feels like a mini show of its own), and served exactly how we ordered—medium rare, with a warm pink center and melt-in-the-mouth tenderness. The accompanying mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and spinning bowl salad made the whole thing feel nostalgic in the best way.
There’s something really satisfying about a place that doesn’t mess with the formula—they know what they’re good at, and they deliver. The creamed corn and au jus added just the right touch of sweetness and richness to the plate.
Service was top-notch—attentive without being stiff. The staff took their time explaining the cuts, wine pairings, and even offered to pace the meal slower so we could enjoy the view (and digest in peace). It didn’t feel rushed, and every course came out with care.
The crowd was a mix of date nights, business dinners, and families celebrating something special. It’s definitely a place you dress up a little for—and it makes the meal feel that much more memorable.
Lawry’s isn’t the trendiest place in town, but that’s the point. It’s timeless, elegant, and when you’re in the mood for a perfect prime rib, done the right way, there’s no better spot in Singapore.
