I treated myself to afternoon tea in the lounge, and the scones were absolutely delicious. Nearby, I explored Keswick, which is only a short drive away, and took a gentle hike to see the actual Lodore Falls, just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Helvellyn is the highest mountain in Lake District. As a hiking lover, how could I not going there when I visit Lake District. I took the bus from Ambleside to Windermere, and then to the start point. The best way to go is definitely drive, or I would suggest to check the bus time before you go because there’s limited bus service and it takes about 6-7.5 hours to go to the top. The view is absolutely stunning, can’t deal 😭

-Jasper's Coffee House- Jasper's Coffee House in Keswick is a charming gem tucked near the market square. My family, our dog, and I (a group of six!) were welcomed with ease. The café has a cosy, artsy atmosphere with cute decorations-many of which are for sale! I had the avocado and poached egg on toast-possibly the best I've had. You can even add an extra egg for £1.50. My sister enjoyed her hash browns with chorizo, cheese, sweet chilli sauce, and an egg-though she'd skip the sweet chilli next time. The portions were perfect, and though we were too full for dessert, the cakes looked incredible. It's super dog-friendly, even featuring a Polaroid wall of pups and puddings! Staff were young, helpful, and genuinely kind. One tip: ask for a menu- don't go rooting through the art like I did! All in all, a fantastic visit. Keswick is around 2.5 hours drive from Manchester or if you want to take public transport then it’s little over 2.5 hours. Situated in the Lake District, Keswick is one of the best places to go for a relaxing weekend. If you go in winters, you’ll see a well lit town centre with beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. Temperature would easily drop to below 5 during that season since it’s surrounded by mountains. On the other hand, summer is the best period to see clear skies and greenery everywhere. There are plenty of bakeries and cafes in the centre. Public transport is also good. Many hiking and trails are options are available. Boat ride in the lake is also there if you fancy doing one.
