Great zoo, well planned out and loads animals to see. I really liked that most of the animals had free-range pavilions like the monkeys and birds,because I've seen in other zoos cages can be small. Some of the highlights of my recent visit include the apes, the tigers and lions, and the penguins too. There is plenty of information and talks on the animals, and it’s a surprisingly large zoo considering it’s location. All the staff were extremely helpful and shared some facts about the animals. This is the oldest scientific zoo, managed by ZSL (Zoological Society of London) and known as ZSL London Zoo. In addition to the great selection of animals, it also opened the first reptile house, first public aquarium, first insect house (which we are not fans of) and the first children’s zoo. The Zoo is located in the famous Regent’s park offering amazingly decorated gardens and quirky art exhibitions in the park. The Zoo however no longer houses some of the old favourites, such as elephants and rhinos. It makes for a nice trip out with the family. however it can be quite costly. #london #zoo #londonzoo The zoo is large and if you pick a one of the multiple coloured routes you will see pretty much everything the park has to offer. each area is themed. to the animals country of origin. food and drink and souvenirs are costly as is tradition. I would suggest heading to Camden town for food and drinks not as costly and more variety. but you can enjoy a overpriced coffee for the experience of having consumed at the zoo. This trip to the London Zoo was full of new and novel experiences, including some that made me happy and some that gave me the creeps. Stepping into the London Zoo is like walking into a colorful animal kingdom. There are many kinds of animals in the park, and each area is like an independent little world. The adorable giant pandas are leisurely holding bamboo and feasting on it; the giraffes are elegant, with their slender necks gently stretching up the trees to pick fresh leaves; the lively monkeys are nimbly jumping and shuttling between the branches, making crisp calls from time to time, as if they are greeting the tourists warmly. However, when I arrived at the Spider Zone, the atmosphere suddenly changed. It was a room enclosed by glass, and from the outside one could vaguely see that it was filled with all kinds of spiders. Taking a deep breath, I mustered up the courage to walk in, and immediately felt all the pores in my body stand up. There was an indescribable smell in the room. Densely packed spiders were scattered in every corner. Some were busy weaving complicated webs, while others were lying there quietly. The patterns and shapes on their bodies were various, which made people shudder. Wherever I looked, I saw the wriggling figures of spiders. Their legs were slender and flexible, and every movement seemed to challenge the limits of my courage. I felt my heartbeat suddenly quicken, my hands unconsciously clenched into fists, and I just wanted to leave this scary place as soon as possible. Although I was afraid, I couldn't help but take a few glances out of curiosity. This complex intertwined emotion made the experience of this spider area particularly profound. Overall, the trip to the London Zoo was a mix of joy and fear, especially the spider area, which, although scary, became an unforgettable and special memory of the trip.

Myself and my daughter went to London for two day and one night, got to the Natural History museum for 10am and had rebooked tickets, so went straight in(no queuing🙌🏻) really enjoyed looking around the dinosaur exhibit , we took a packed lunch with us, which we ate in the cafeteria, we then headed to the science museum, which was fun(although I thought it would be more interactive) still very interesting though, especially the space and medicine areas. We then jumped in a cab to our hotel(EasyHotel in Kensington, small, clean, great location and cheap). In the evening we went for dinner at Ask Italian(lovely food, children menu too). The 2nd day we caught the tube from Earl’s Court (5 minute walk from hotel) , grabbed a McDonald’s breakfast and headed to London Zoo (if on universal credit, you can get discounted tickets) which was so much fun, lots of walk through areas, where you can get close to the animals, recommend taking a packed lunch if on a budget, as coffee/lunch can be pricey. Tips- wear comfortable shoes, take a raincoat and a battery pack as lots to take pics of.

It's been a while since my last visit, but today I discovered many familiar faces at the London Zoo. My friends and I were amazed to find so many animals from China, including the Chinese three-striped box turtle and the Chinese crocodile lizard. New additions like the Mangshan pit viper and the bicolor spiny tree frog were also a delight to see. Although I couldn't capture the elusive frogs on camera, the other animals were quite photogenic and active, except for the naturally sedentary ones. The zoo's layout and exhibits are excellent, providing a fun search experience without making it too difficult to find the animals. The relationship between visitors and animals is well-managed, allowing for unobtrusive observation and many exhibits without barriers, perfect for close-up photography without a telephoto lens. I was thrilled to capture the courtship behavior of the Chinese crocodile lizard! However, the relocation of the reptile house meant the absence of some old favorites like the South American bushmaster and the Peruvian crocodile lizard, which was a bit disappointing. The conservation studios have been updated with more completed and ongoing research projects. I remember when the little ones in P12 were new arrivals and not on display, but now they are a permanent exhibit and look stunning! In summary, plan for at least three and a half hours for a quick tour, or longer if you want to take your time. The zoo closes at 4 PM in winter, so arriving at 11 AM is ideal. Sometimes, animals might climb over the branches above or come right up to you. Although the weather in London is quite cold now, many animals have moved indoors, but the zoo has set up many indoor viewing points, so you can still see almost every animal without missing out. There are also many volunteers who provide explanations, helping visitors learn more about the animals and answer any questions they might have. The zoo is moderately sized, and you can definitely cover it in a day. At the entrance, you'll receive a map that divides the zoo into orange, blue, and green zones. Just follow the orange, blue, and green lines on the ground, and you won't get lost or retrace your steps. Once you've completed all three routes, you've seen the entire zoo. The zoo is located next to Regent's Park and is part of it. You can take the Northern Line to Camden Town and then walk, or get off at Regent's Park station and walk through Regent's Park. In recent years, I've visited aquariums more often, and it's been at least a decade since I last went to a zoo. This time, I decided to explore the London Zoo. The zoo has a wide variety of animals, although the large snake that talked to Harry Potter is no longer there. I particularly enjoyed the little monkeys; they seem completely unafraid of humans. However, it's important not to touch them, as you might get bitten and even be asked to leave the zoo. After visiting the zoo, there's a great Italian restaurant nearby called La Collina.
