[Okinawa] Popular tourist spots on Iriomote Island
After getting off at the World Heritage site of Iriomote Island, we take a bus to the "Yubu Water Buffalo Carriage Station" 🚌
You can walk from there, but the famous thing is riding the water buffalo cart 🐮🌺
Yubu Island is a small island with a circumference of 2.15km, and even if you go around slowly, it takes about an hour. Also, about 30 years ago, the island was severely damaged by a typhoon, and most of the islanders moved to other areas, but the old man on the island continued to plant many plants so that many people would return, and Yubu Island as it is today is said to have been established.
The island is very small, and there are cute signs, a botanical garden, and a cafe with delicious ice cream. It is also a popular island for sightseeing on Iriomote Island.
Water buffalo carts run every 30 minutes.
On the way there, it took about 10 minutes to get to Yubu Island, but on the way back, when we got on the last train, it took about 5 minutes because the cows seemed to know that this was the end of their work 😂
Yubu Island has a completely different atmosphere even among the Yaeyama Islands, so please check it out 🌺
