It is built halfway up the mountain, backed by its own tea garden, facing the tea mountain, and overlooking the city of Quanzhou. It is filled with the faint fragrance of tea and the harmonious sound of music. It is close to the world yet secluded. It is comfortable to live and eat. Most importantly, there are workshops where tea artists will take you through the whole process of experiencing tea culture! If you come during the tea picking season, the tea garden will take guests to the tea mountains to pick tea, so that you can experience the knowledge from raw leaves to tea leaves. You will really learn a lot! More importantly, the restaurant in this tea house is so delicious... There is no need to go to the city to find Quanzhou cuisine. The food is large, cheap and exquisite. The Quanzhou depicted in the song held a mystical allure, drawing me in, making me eager to unveil its secrets. Upon arrival, I immersed myself in the ancient city. Red brick houses stood in picturesque disarray, stone paths wound through the streets, and the scent of tea drifted from old shops along the way. Stepping into a time-honored teahouse, the carved wooden door slowly opened, releasing a wave of delicate tea fragrance. Inside, wooden tables and chairs were neatly arranged, calligraphy and paintings adorned the walls, and lush green plants thrived in the corners. A tea master, dressed in traditional attire, skillfully prepared the tea set. She gently placed tea leaves into a Yixing teapot, and as hot water poured in, the aroma of tea filled the air. Mimicking her movements, I lifted a small teacup and took a sip of Tieguanyin. The tea was golden and translucent, slightly bitter at first, followed by a lingering sweetness. Quanzhou Mingshan Qingyuan Tea House 📍Location The hotel is located behind Qingyuan Mountain, a 5A scenic spot. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the scenic spot, which takes about 10 minutes. When we went down the mountain to West Street, the hotel staff drove us to the foot of the mountain, and it only cost us a little over 10 yuan to take a taxi. My bestie and I sat and chatted while enjoying the view and the tea provided by the hotel (Pic 3️⃣). 🍵Intangible Cultural Heritage Tea Culture The hotel offers many tea-related activities, which is not surprising since it is in Quanzhou! My bestie and I set aside a day to experience them. In the morning, a staff member taught us how to make Song-style tea (Pic 4️⃣, bottom), which is the same as in Liu Yifei's TV series "A Dream of Splendor"! We learned about the history and culture of tea and painted on the tea surface. It was fun! In the afternoon, we experienced intangible cultural heritage tea in their glass tea room (Pic 4️⃣, top). The view from the tea room was also beautiful, and my bestie and I took a lot of photos. 📷 🍴Dining Breakfast was hearty and delicious (Pic 5️⃣, top). My bestie and I didn't want to go down the mountain and wait in line for lunch and dinner, so we ate at the tea house. Ordering was easy. We ordered in the service group, and they called us when the food was ready. The food was surprisingly good! It was authentic Minnan cuisine, and they also served their own chickens, ducks, and vegetables, which were fresh and sweet. The staff told us that March and April are the cherry blossom season, so my bestie and I will definitely come back for a few days to take photos!
