The centre was expanded in 2009 into the new Mong Ha Eco-Centre re-opened in 2010, providing better space for learning and visit by the public and students. The two-storey centre, with a height of 8.9 meters, offers an area of 540 m2 for the public to use and visit. Besides, it features an environmentally friendly design adopting a host of green elements, such as the transparent arched ceiling in the centre that lets in natural light, the indoor vertical greenery system, aquaponics system and so on to minimise the energy consumption in the centre and create an eco-friendly environment.
