Blue Moon Valley (Figures 4, 10, 11) The lake is like a sapphire inlaid between the snow-capped mountains and forests. It has an unreal beauty. The light before 2 pm is the best. 4. Yunshanping (Figures 5, 12, 13) It is recommended to walk along the wooden plank road. The forest meadows and herds of cattle and sheep under the snow-capped mountains make you feel like you have traveled to Northern Europe. 5. Black Dragon Pool Park (Figure 6) There is no entrance fee if you enter before 7:30 in the morning. The Suocui Bridge near the West/South Gate is a great place to take photos of the sunrise over Jinshan Mountain. You can also take photos of Heilongtan, Deyue Tower and Yulong Snow Mountain in the same frame. 6. Lion Mountain Scenic Area (Figure 7) The Lion Mountain Observation Deck offers a panoramic view of the ancient city of Lijiang. Tickets are 35 yuan per person. Climbing up to the Wangu Tower will give you a wider view. 7. Baisha Ancient Town (Figure 14) is an original Naxi village at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain. The architecture here has ethnic characteristics and you can also take close-up photos of the snow-capped mountains. 8. Lijiang Ancient Town (Figure 15) There are many scenic spots in the ancient city, including Sifang Street, the big waterwheel, the Sakura Restaurant and the Paper Umbrella Alley, which are suitable for strolling slowly until the evening.

More than 300 years later, this city has become known to more and more people, becoming the poetry and distant dream in countless hearts. 🌆Lijiang Ancient Town, built along the mountainside, has a history of over 800 years. As night falls, looking down from a height, you can see thousands of lights twinkling like stars, resembling a colorful painting that showcases the prosperity and tranquility of this place. 🏯Located in the center of the town, Mu's Mansion was the residence of the local chieftain. The architecture blends central Chinese and ethnic minority styles, presenting a magnificent appearance. Xu Xiake once praised it as "a palace as beautiful as that of a king." 🛖Shuhe Ancient Town, seven kilometers from the ancient city, was once an important trading post on the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Walking through its streets and alleys, you can feel the ancient atmosphere everywhere, with every brick and tile seemingly telling its long history. 🏔️Looking into the distance, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain resembles a silver-white dragon lying majestically between heaven and earth. When the morning sunlight pours onto the towering peaks, it's as if they're draped in golden khatas, displaying their grandeur and sacredness. 🏞️Following the winding mountain road to the foot of the snow mountain, you'll find the fairyland-like Blue Moon Valley. The rippling lake waters, lush forests, and snow-capped peaks are like a palette spilled by the "three deities," truly a picturesque landscape! 🗻The Naxi people regard Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as a supreme sacred mountain. Only when I personally observed the imposing presence of the thirteen peaks did I truly understand their faith and reverence. As clouds pass by, the peaks sometimes hide in the mist, sometimes pierce through the blue sky, performing the most magnificent one-act play of the Hengduan Mountains on the vast canvas of Yak Meadow. 🚌After a five-hour journey on winding mountain roads, all fatigue instantly vanishes when the deep blue of Lake Lugu comes into view. 🌌Staying overnight by the lake, I open the window to see the Milky Way hanging high, and finally understand why the Mosuo people consider this place the last pure land on earth. 🌅When the first golden ray pierces the sky, the entire body of water suddenly boils with light. As the pig trough boat glides across the mirror-like surface, I can't tell if it's the morning sun leaping over the mountains or if I'm slowly sinking into a golden dream. ⛩️This is Lijiang, with its thousand-year cultural history and unique landscapes. You must visit Yunnan once in your lifetime to fully experience the charm of Lijiang.

What an amazing time I had in Lijiang, at every corner there is a new photo to take and a new view to take your breath away. Walking the Ancient Town’s streets, one can truly understand why it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with such immense beauty and authenticity. I could truly walk those streets for days! I highly recommend Mu’s Mansion, which has such vibrant colours and a short walk up the hill leads to a beautiful panoramic view of the Ancient Town. The food and drinks in Lijiang are also wonderful. With beautiful tea and so many coffee shops to try, which have many unique coffees to enjoy, such as a rose coffee that I had. I really enjoyed the local foods in the market, including rice noodles and yak! You can’t leave Lijiang without trying the rose cakes either. And to top it all off, the imposing and majestic view of 玉龙雪山 (Yulong Xueshan), which provides such a dramatic element to the city. The only negative thing I can say about Lijiang is that it is really bad for my phone storage, as I now have so many beautiful photos taking up space!
