The design inspiration for Kuan Shang Hotel in Lijiang Ancient Town comes from traditional Naxi culture, cleverly integrating Dongba cultural elements with modern minimalist style. The hotel exterior preserves the classic features of Naxi dwellings—three courtyards with one screen wall, four buildings surrounding five courtyards, gray tiles with white walls, and upturned eaves—harmoniously blending with the ancient town's appearance.
Stepping inside the hotel reveals a hidden paradise. Designers used abundant wooden elements and natural stone to create a warm, rustic atmosphere. Traditional elements like Dongba script and Naxi embroidery are ingeniously incorporated into the details, showcasing rich local cultural characteristics.
Each room is meticulously designed to preserve the charm of traditional Naxi dwellings. Inside the rooms, solid wood furniture, hand-woven carpets, and decorative paintings by local artists all reveal strong ethnic flavor. Modern amenities are also fully available: comfortable bedding, high-quality bathroom fixtures, and smart control systems.
The restaurant specializes in Naxi cuisine, using fresh local ingredients. Signature dishes like Naxi ham, Lijiang baba (flatbread), and chicken bean jelly offer unforgettable flavors. Additionally, the restaurant serves Western and Chinese breakfast options and afternoon tea.
The hotel offers rich amenities, with tranquil courtyards providing ideal spaces for relaxation, reading, meditation, or simply enjoying the sunshine. The hotel also features a tea room and book bar.
Located in the heart of Lijiang Ancient Town, the hotel is surrounded by attractions within walking distance, including Square Street, Mu's Mansion, and Lion Hill. Many specialty shops and restaurants are nearby, making it convenient to experience local life.
