First, I was amazed by the grandeur of Osaka Castle. Standing in front of it, I could feel the majesty and magnificence of this historical building. From the top of the main tower, I had a panoramic view of Osaka city, and especially in autumn and winter, the surrounding maple and ginkgo trees added a romantic and nostalgic atmosphere to the castle. Next, I arrived at Shinsekai, which was filled with the nostalgia of the Showa era. The Tsutenkaku Tower stood tall in the center of the street, surrounded by colorful neon signs and local specialty foods. I traveled to Osaka, Japan I went in July during the summer, and it was very hot. Accommodation I booked a room that was relatively cheap, so it was overall small. It was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the breakfast was not very good. However, as expected in Japan, the room was very clean. Most hotel counters can speak English. Osaka Universal Studios is expensive but highly recommended! It's very large and there's a lot to see. However, I recommend entering with very light luggage. Of course, there are paid lockers inside. However, the restaurants inside Universal Studios are very expensive, haha. Osaka Dotonbori Dotonbori is like Hongdae. It's a very famous tourist spot, but I recommend just sightseeing rather than buying or eating anything there. It's expensive and the taste is just so-so, haha. Osaka Castle I saw Osaka Castle once when I was young, but it has been remodeled and looks completely different now. It's a pity that the old feeling is mostly gone, but the exhibition hall has been upgraded and the interior is more comfortable! Japanese Subway The Japanese subway is much more complicated than the Korean subway, and the entrances are often different if the lines are different. Make sure to check thoroughly before you come!

This hidden Lawson store offers a unique atmosphere with its thatched roof and well-preserved wooden buildings. Additionally, it sells plum-related products, souvenirs, and warm menu items such as steamed buns and sweet sake. Visitors can enter the garden from several paths, but if you want to enter through the main gate of Osaka Castle, it is recommended to get off at Tanimachi 4-chome Station on the Chuo Line and Tanimachi Line. The Osaka Amazing Pass costs 3300 JPY (about 30 SGD) for one day, and 5500 JPY for two days. My friend and I got the one-day pass for my short trip to Osaka last October. These are the attractions we used it on, and I’ve got to say it was really worth it! 1️⃣ Osaka Castle 🏰 This is the main highlight of Osaka, and going inside would help you understand a lot about Osaka’s history, especially on the era of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. We wanted to take the boat (covered under the pass) going around the castle moat but unfortunately it rained. 2️⃣ Osaka Museum of History 📜 Right beside Osaka Castle is the history museum, and I would recommend coming here after visiting the castle. It is not very crowded and is a good place to relax. 3️⃣ Umeda Sky Building ☁️ We went up to the observation deck of the Umeda Sky Building, to see the skyline of Osaka. It was a great view and we spotted a few planes headed to or departed from Kansai Airport as well. The journey up and down had a very futuristic vibe to it. 4️⃣ Koji Kinutani Tenku Art Museum 🎭 This art museum is located downstairs of the Umeda Sky Building, in one of the tower blocks. This is definitely the unexpected highlight of the trip, as we saw many unconventional pieces of art there. There were many 3D visuals, showcasing the work of Koji Kinutani, a Japanese artist who studied in Italy and brought back an innovative and dynamic style. 5️⃣ Hep Five 🎡 Ended off the day at the Hep Five ferris wheel near Umeda station. Unfortunately it was raining so the views weren’t great. Overall, the pass was worth it, especially in saving on transport costs.
