In the end, the Tokugawa family won, and the earliest Osaka Castle also disappeared in the flames of war. The Tokugawa shogunate rebuilt Osaka Castle and the second-generation castle tower in 1626, but a few years later the castle tower was struck by lightning and burned down, and it had not been rebuilt for hundreds of years. I went to the Osaka Museum of History and Osaka Castle for the first time in about four years. Osaka is a big city, but I feel like there aren't many tourist spots. Perhaps it's because Tokyo has many facilities that are only found in the capital, while Osaka doesn't have those. I got off the cool Osaka Metro Chuo Line at Tanimachi 4-Chome Station. It's almost directly connected to the Osaka Museum of History. I remember coming here on the Sakaisuji Line four years ago and ending up a little further away. It seems like there are more exhibits, if only a little. You can see the mountains looming close from the center of the city. Ah, I realized I'm not in Tokyo here. In the photo, you can even clearly see the radio tower on the top of Mt. Ikoma. On my way back, I saw a time capsule from the 1970 Osaka Expo. This is an area where admission is not required. It's safer and smarter to display it in a museum like this than to bury it and have it go missing or get submerged and its contents destroyed. The Education Tower was featured on an NHK TV program the evening before our visit. It's the kind of monument you wouldn't notice unless someone told you about it. And then we went up to Osaka Castle. Without the inbound foreign tourists, it's really deserted. The only language we could hear was Kansai dialect, not a foreign language. I waited for 30 minutes for the elevator and got on, but it wasn't that great because it was daytime. There was only one cafe, but the menu wasn't that appealing. I recommend going to Hell Five. The view of Osaka Castle was really nice during the day. It's better to go early. There are a lot of people in Dotonbori and there's always a wait for a restaurant. Day 2: Universal Nintendo Super Mario King Kong I got in early, but it said the waiting time was 200 minutes, and even though it was raining, I waited for about 120 minutes for the single rider. I rode all the other rides in 40 minutes. There were even short rides of 10 minutes. Japan Airport There were other foreigners when I left the country, so the line was really long when I got tested. There were currency exchange machines and exchange offices at the hotel or station, so I exchanged money in the middle. I didn't know that, so I exchanged money with Toss and walked to the airport bank. When I arrived, most of it was in Korean, so it was a bit difficult to get on the train. I didn't even know what JR or Nankai were. You just need to find out about the pass, Haruka, or Airport Express. The train comes quickly, so if you get on the wrong train, it will come right back and you can get on again. Learn how to use the pass for 2 or more people. Umeda Sky Garden It's just a high rooftop, so it's better to ride Hell Five. Osaka Castle It's good for walking around, and there's a car that goes around the area. It's 300 yen, and if you look at the car, there are street food stalls like takoyaki. I just passed by because I was in a hurry. Dotonbori was really crowded, and I took a boat, but it was worth it. There's usually a wait for a good restaurant. Just go comfortably. Don Quijote It's crowded and narrow. You'll get pushed here and there. After going to Universal If you have the stamina or if your departure time is okay, I recommend Mega Don Quijote. The business hours are very long, from 9 AM to 5 AM the next day. I arrived at Universal around 7:40 AM and entered around 8:35 AM. Stand behind the Koreans or Korean group line. The Chinese are really pickpockets. And if you are going with more than two people, please register your ticket in front. For those who are going for the first time, please do it separately and receive a ticket at a different time. The ticket doesn't come out right away, but please check it once. I like to rest comfortably when I rest, so I stayed at a place right next to Sakai Station. It's a little bit of a sleeper. There's a convenience store right next to it, and there's a shopping mall-like thing at the station, and there's a discount mart supermarket on the other side, so I really wore slippers and walked around. Nice little park to wander around. We originally wanted to visit the castle but changed our mind seeing the gigantic queue to get in. The park itself was quite peaceful. Lots of places to sit down and enjoy your bento lunch with amazing views. We really enjoyed being there, especially after a day in the crowded city centre. The areas to the north of the park were pleasant to walk around and we found a few beautiful teashops along the way.
