Walking on the streets of Otaru is always comfortable, the old houses in the alleys and the salty smell of the sea breeze make people slow down unconsciously. And on a quiet path next to the canal, we found this warm little restaurant-Manjiro.
The store is not big, and you can smell the aroma of charcoal grilled fish as soon as you enter the door🔥. We ordered two popular set meals: grilled salmon set meal and salt grilled fish set meal. When it was served, the color and oiliness of the fish made people's eyes light up, and the whole set of dishes was also very Japanese-simple, clean and delicate.
My grilled salmon had a slightly crispy skin, thick but soft fish meat, and the fat distribution was just right. After eating, the rich salmon aroma spread in the mouth😋. There was no extra seasoning, only salt to enhance the flavor, but it made people eat one bite after another, and it was really delicious with white rice! The miso soup was also boiled with kelp and fish bones, refreshing and not too salty, and it was very comfortable to drink.
Another salt-grilled fish set meal used fresh mackerel of the day, which was grilled with a charred skin and tender meat🐟.
