Since my flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was early in the morning, I stayed overnight at a hotel near the airport. Thanks to that, I was able to take my time at the airport the next day and eat breakfast at the lounge that I could enter with my Priority Pass 😋 ➡️Arrived in Ho Chi Minh City in the evening! I headed to the hotel in a car that I had reserved in advance! When traveling abroad, I recommend booking an airport transfer in advance to save time and get to the hotel smoothly! As soon as I checked in, I enjoyed shopping at a nearby market and went to eat pho for dinner. I was also interested in the pho at a local shop, but since it was my first day, I chose a restaurant first! After dinner, I went to a cafe that I've always wanted to go to, which has delicious chocolate 🍫 The inside of the cafe was spacious and had a nice sweet chocolate aroma, and they also sold a lot of chocolate and miscellaneous goods as souvenirs ✨ I wanted to buy chocolate as a souvenir, but it's very hot in Vietnam, so I thought it would melt, so I couldn't buy it this time, which was a shame... After the cafe, I went to the rooftop bar! It’s recommended to take the elevator to the ninth floor first and then leisurely explore each level to find your favorite café. After making a purchase, you can ask the café to refund the elevator fee. Alternatively, if you enjoy a challenge, you can save the fee by taking the stairs. In our case, we made purchases but didn’t manage to get the refund. Starting from the ninth floor, we explored downward, and even the staircases exuded a vintage charm. The shop might look a bit shabby and make you worry about hygiene, but trust me, it's absolutely delicious! You have to try it! Another must-try is pho! I went to a local spot frequented by residents. Watching how locals eat, I noticed they added vegetables and some kind of sauce from the table to their pho, so I copied them—and it was delicious! Later, I met up with friends and went for Vietnamese barbecue, which is apparently called bun cha. It's quite famous, so reservations are a must! Vietnamese barbecue is healthy and easy to eat. You dip the meat into a sour soup or sauce, which adds a unique flavor. As for banh xeo and fresh spring rolls, I personally found them underwhelming. Maybe they taste better at other places! Be careful with banh xeo, though—it’s huge! 🤣
