You don’t have to go to Kawaguchiko to see this highest peak in Japan. Hachimanyama Park is located near the city center and can be reached by bus in ten minutes from Shizuoka Station. You can reach the top of the mountain by climbing about 200 steps from the shrine entrance. The route is simple but you can see the amazing view of Mount Fuji! Let's go on a little trip! Nihondaira is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, not too far from Tokyo. Besides the famous Shizuoka tea, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, on the day we went, Mount Fuji was hiding behind the clouds and didn't show its face. We took the cable car to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, where the scenery was serene and there weren't many people. After a strenuous climb, we finally reached the top. Besides worshiping and enjoying the beautiful scenery, we had a panoramic view of Shizuoka City below. You can hike and exercise here, but the only downside of this trip was not being able to see Mount Fuji's face.

Took this photo when I visited Shizuoka! The first one is from Nihondaira Yume Terrace!! Even while moving by bus, the impressive Mount Fuji was visible, but the view from the terrace was incredible!!!! The subsequent photos are from Nihondaira Zoo! Since it was a weekday, there were few people, and it was nice to be able to watch the animals at leisure. I was especially surprised when a tiger came up close. Also, the red pandas were so small and incredibly cute. There was also a super long slide, so definitely give it a try!! I highly recommend Shizuoka!!!
