Even those who often travel to Japan may not have been there, but it is a place that our friends in Shimane must visit during our visit. Important 1: First of all, it is part of the World Heritage Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. 400 years ago, this old street by the port was the export port and the only way for the silver dug out of Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. Key point 2: An earthquake about 150 years ago caused hot springs to gush out here, hence the name Zhenquan. The Yakushiyu (a Taisho building over 100 years old) on the old street attracts countless hot spring lovers from far and wide. The hot spring house itself is a historical building with a great atmosphere both inside and outside. It is my favorite day-trip hot spring house I have ever had. Even the rest areas on the second floor and rooftop balcony are stunning, and there is free coffee to drink. Highlight 3: Next to Yakushiyu is another cafe (Bieyuan) with the same Taisho style. Jozenji Temple in Sanbe-cho, Oyama City, Shimane Prefecture Rising up in the narrow grounds of an old temple on the outskirts of town is a giant ginkgo tree that is over 600 years old, with a height of about 30m, a branch width of 23.5m, and a trunk circumference of 9.3m. After purchasing your admission ticket at the ticket office, put on your safety helmet, step into this mine tunnel that has existed since the 17th century, and experience the life of ancient miners! (Note: Intermediate steps refer to the mine tunnel) As you enter the mine, you will immediately feel the temperature drop sharply. Although it is a little dark, there are spotlights every few meters, so you can still clearly see the environment inside the cave. Some of the small mine tunnels branching off from the main mine tunnel are forbidden to enter. You can see that some of the small mine tunnels can only accommodate one person to crawl in. It is hard to imagine what kind of hardship the miners in the past endured... When you walk to the exit of the mine tunnel, you will see some ancient paintings showing the working conditions of ancient miners, with simple English explanations next to them. Mononobe Shrine is the Ichinomiya of Iwami Province. The deity worshipped here is Umashimaji no Mikoto, ancestor of the Mononobe clan. His father, Nigihayahi no Mikoto, once ruled the land of Yamato. Then, he came into conflict with Kamu Yamato Iwarebiko no Mikoto when he marched eastward. As a result of this conflict, Nigihayahi no Mikoto withdrew, and Kamu Yamato Iwarebiko no Mikoto later became the first emperor, Emperor Jimmu. Umashimaji no Mikoto, who followed Nigihayahi no Mikoto's great achievements, pacified various countries and developed the land! And so, he finally arrived in Iwami Province.
