For this trip to Shaxi, I went to a guesthouse I had longed to visit for a long time - Changleli, located on the edge of Changle Village, an ancient village with a thousand years of history, and only a road away from Shaxi Ancient Town. It is very convenient to take 5–10 minutes to walk across a beautiful field to get there. The courtyard faces the fields directly, with unique scenery. Pushing open the carved wooden door, the whispers of time flow under the green tiles and white walls. This ancient building courtyard hidden deep in the fields is a poem carefully carved by time, connecting the world with its flying eaves and corners, and casting history with its mottled brick walls. In the morning mist, listen to the rustling of the wind passing through the fields; in the twilight, watch the lanterns cast warm yellow light and shadows in the corridors and under the eaves. Each guest room is a journey through time. The old elm wood bed carries a night of peaceful sleep, and the floral windows frame the pastoral paintings of the four seasons. The ornaments are exquisite and of high quality, and the furniture and utensils have a warm luster.
