My original intention to see the source of the Huangpu River was just because I suddenly learned how Shanghai's abbreviation "Shen" came about. According to the Shanghai Toponymy and other books, Chunshen Jun dredged the river and controlled the flood in his fief, which won the hearts of the people. In memory of him, people renamed the river Chunshen River or Huangpu River, abbreviated as Shen River. There is a Chunshen Hall in the source of the Huangpu River, which suddenly brought me closer to history. 🌠To be honest, I think the scenery of this scenic spot is actually quite good, and the planning and design are also in line with the current corporate team building requirements, but there should be a lot of construction going on, so it hasn't fully taken on yet. Maybe when it becomes famous, there will be a lot of people. But I still think there are too few highlights. At a time when everyone is checking in on spring and autumn, relying solely on humanistic feelings is not very reliable, which is why few people come to this place. It is a temporary parking lot, and there is a long way to walk into the scenic spot. Activities: Camping, cycling, photography, equestrianism, farm stay ❗️Key point: The cover photo is deceptive. The Chunshen Hall in the photo was not taken at the source of the Huangpu River, but at the source of the Huangpu River, just across the river. I drove there to take a look. I saw a helicopter parking lot and guessed that there might be low-altitude sightseeing in the future. If you want to see clearly or take a photo, you really need to be in the air. If not, a drone will do.

Come for a relaxing weekend trip to Songjiang! 👉Shanghai's Songjiang District is located in the southwest of the city. With a long history, Songjiang was part of the Wu state during the Spring and Autumn period, the Tang dynasty established Huating County here, and in the third year of the Republic of China, Songjiang County was established. Below is an introduction to a travel route that includes three attractions. 🛎Attraction Route: Sheshan National Forest Park➡️Tianma Mountain Radio Telescope➡️The Origin of the Pujiang River. 1️⃣Sheshan National Forest Park: Free admission, convenient parking, both East and West Sheshan have their own parking lots, but traffic jams can occur on weekends and holidays. The main attractions to visit are East Sheshan, West Sheshan, the Catholic Church, and the Sheshan Observatory. Note that the highest point of Sheshan, the Catholic Church, and the observatory are all on West Sheshan. The Sheshan Catholic Church was built in the second year of the Tongzhi era of the Qing dynasty and also has a long history. 2️⃣Tianma Mountain Radio Telescope: With a diameter of 65 meters, it is currently the largest radio telescope in Asia. Located next to Jiujiang Highway in Sanjiezhicun Village, Songjiang District, you can drive to the entrance. It's next to a fruit orchard, there are no parking spaces, and it's not open for visits, so you can only look from the outside, but the close-up view is really spectacular. 3️⃣The Origin of the Pujiang River, as the name suggests, is the starting point of Shanghai's mother river, the Huangpu River, and is the source of the river. The Origin of the Pujiang River Park is free to visit. The Xietang River and Yuanxie Jing converge here, forming a delta. A Tang dynasty-style building was constructed on the delta, named Chunshentang, to commemorate the great achievements of Huang Xie, one of the Four Lords of the Warring States period, who dredged the river channels here. After entering, you can see a huge wood carving depicting the water system of the Huangpu River.

The Huangpu River, known as the mother river of Shanghai, is the last tributary of the Yangtze River before it rushes to the East China Sea. It is about 113 kilometers long and cleverly divides Shanghai into Pudong and Puxi. As for the origin of the Huangpu River, it is closely related to Huang Xie, the Lord of Chunshen during the Warring States Period, so it is also called Chunshenpu or Huangxiepu. Two of the three major tributaries of the upper Huangpu River converge in a village in Shihuadang Town, Songjiang, forming a magnificent delta, which is the starting point of the Huangpu River, so it is called 'the head of the Pujiang River'. In the 'Head of the Pujiang River' park, people set up Chunshen Hall to commemorate Lord Chunshen Huang Xie. In front of Chunshen Hall, there is a tall 'Shuliuyun' pagoda, which enshrines the Water Dragon King and faces the vast Huangpu River majestically. In front of Chunshen Hall, there is a huge stone, a stele, and a nameplate. The stone is engraved with the four characters 'Head of the Pujiang River', the stele details the historical changes here, and the nameplate marks the special sign of 'Zero Kilometer of the Pujiang River'. This historic river is not only the water source of Shanghai, but also a witness to the city's prosperity and development. The beautiful scenery and rich historical and cultural background of the Huangpu River attract countless tourists to appreciate and visit.
