Aosuga Coast in Aomori
Aosuga Coast, located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, is part of the Sanriku Fukko National Park and serves as a key attraction at the southern end of the Tanesashi Coast. This area features a rare combination of white sand and green pine trees along its coastline. The approximately 2.3-kilometer-long beach is straight and majestic, creating a striking contrast with the rocky grassland terrain to the north. The strong sea breeze and crashing waves showcase the unique natural power of the Pacific coast in northeastern Japan.
While the turbulent currents make it unsuitable for swimming, the coast is perfect for walking, photography, listening to the sound of the waves, or simply relaxing. Visitors can also follow the coastal trail heading north, which connects to the Tanesashi Natural Grassland—a favorite spot for hikers. During spring and summer, seaside wildflowers bloom, complementing the stunning Pacific views and offering a truly soothing experience.
📍Address: Akabane, Same Town, Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture
🚶Access: About a 15-minute walk from JR Hachinohe Line's "Okuki Station" or a 20-minute walk from "Tanesashi Coast Station"
🕰️Hours: Open all day (natural scenery without fences)

Aomori Cherry Blossoms and Ocean Healing at Sotogahama Coast 🌸🌊
#cherryblossom25
In May, the trees around Oirase Gorge still weren't fully green, but with the perfect weather yesterday, I decided to do a hiking day along Sotogahama Coast. Let me share my full day itinerary!
Morning in Aomori 🌅
Started the day capturing the cherry blossoms and snow-capped mountains in Aomori. 📸
Traveling to Sotogahama Coast 🚉
After returning to Aomori Station, I grabbed a Sotogahama Coast route map from the tourist information center.
11:05 AM: Took the train from Aomori Station to Shin-Aomori Station (11:27 AM).
11:52 AM: Took the train from Shin-Aomori to Hachinohe Station (12:15 PM).
12:24 PM: From Hachinohe to Sotogahama Coast Station (12:57 PM). 🚂
Afternoon at Sotogahama Coast 🏖️
13:00 - 15:00: I went on the coastal hike around Sotogahama Coast. Passed by beautiful grasslands (natural lawns), pine forests, white beach bathing areas, and Osuga Coast. 🌿
You don't have to walk on the beach, as there are grassy fields and reed swamps to explore instead. 🌾
Took a break at a cafe with an ocean view, where I highly recommend trying their delicious ice cream! 🍦.
Captured more scenic shots at the viewpoint
Evening Exploration 🌅
15:46 PM: Took the train from Sotogahama Viewpoint Station to Uwajima Seaside Park Station (15:55 PM), where I visited Uwajima Shrine. 🏯
16:54 PM: From Uwajima Station to Hachinohe Station (17:18 PM).
17:30 PM: Train ride from Hachinohe to Shin-Aomori Station, finishing my coastal adventure by 17:54 PM. 🚋

[Aomori x Osuka Beach] A beautiful beach used as a location for TV dramas
📍Osuka Beach
Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture
《Access》
About 21 minutes on foot from the exit of Mutsu Shirahama Station

Osuka Beach is a white sand beach that stretches for about 2.3 kilometers
It is the largest sand beach in northern Tohoku that you can walk on
Driving along the coast from Tanesashi Beach 🚗³₃, enjoying the spectacular view...
It was a bit disappointing that the weather was cloudy ☁️, but I think it would be a great driving course on a sunny day.
The beach is shallow and vast, making it a spot that even beginner surfers can enjoy.

Ōsuka-kaigan coast
#japantrip A coast with beautiful white sand. There is also a promenade that leads to Shirahama Beach, but the sandy beach here seems to have been set up as a promenade, so I found it quite difficult to walk. I walked from Shirahama Beach, but in the end I gave up on walking on the sand and instead walked along a kind of animal trail on the side of the road. Still, you can enjoy it quite a lot, as there are pampas grass fields and Hamahurugao blooming. Apparently it makes a noise when you walk on the beach, but I didn't notice it.
The bus stop is near the Umineko Line Monument.
