Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Mosque
#batamguide The Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Mosque in Batam stands as a monumental symbol of Islamic architecture and cultural heritage. Inaugurated in 2019, it is the largest mosque in Sumatra, accommodating up to 25,000 worshippers. The mosque's design harmoniously blends Arab, Turkish, and Malay influences, featuring a vast prayer hall free of interior columns, crowned by a 63-meter-wide dome—the largest in Indonesia. Its 99-meter observation tower offers panoramic views of Batam and even Singapore on clear days. The mosque also houses a museum detailing the history of Islam in the Riau Islands and the legacy of Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah, enhancing its appeal as a center for both worship and education. With its expansive gardens, modern facilities, and architectural grandeur, the mosque has become a must-visit destination for both pilgrims and tourists.

Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Mosque is one of famous place to visit in Batam. This place is open for everyone who want to visit and see the interior inside.
The mosque is so spacious and beautifull. you have to use syarii type of cloth for woman (like a dress that cover you ankle and long sleeve with head cap), they can provide the cloth if you dont have it.
And the muslim can do praying inside, the part when man and woman praying will be separated by the separator as you can see on the image. They also provide cover for man to use for praying.
Felt so quiet and peacefull being inside here. 🥰💕 #religiouslandmarks #religiousculture
