Taichung Park is one of the famous landmarks in Taichung City. It is located at the intersection of Ziyou Road, Shuangshi Road and Jingwu Road in the North District of Taichung City. The park was founded during the Japanese colonial period and is the oldest park in Taichung City. It covers an area of approximately 32,889 square meters. The lake pavilion in the park is an important symbol of Taichung City. Since its inception, historical monuments have been moved in or installed one after another, making the park an exhibition space representing the history of Taichung City. Many facilities in the park have become cultural assets, and the Lake Pavilion is now a historical site in Taichung City. The area around Taichung Park was one of the early developed areas of Taichung. At that time, the large mound in the park was the birthplace of the ancient name of Taichung (Dadun) (later called Paotai Mountain), and Sun Moon Lake was also a natural pond formed by the Green River flowing through it. The park has a vast hinterland, lush greenery, beautiful landscaping, pleasant scenery, and a good ecology (squirrels, pigeons, fish, turtles, etc. are resident). The park also has facilities such as a children's play area, Sun Moon Lake boating, tennis courts, and an underground parking lot, making it a great place for parents and children to relax and exercise together.
