THE BLOSSOM KUMAMOTO (더 블라썸 구마모토) Moderate Double Room
For the third night of our 3-night, 4-day trip to Fukuoka, we stayed at 'The Blossom Kumamoto,' located just 10 seconds away from Kumamoto Station. We made this reservation about three weeks before the trip, changing our original plan.
Initially, we had booked accommodation in Nagasaki, but we decided to add a visit to Yamaga Onsen, known as the 'Little Kyoto of Kumamoto,' to our itinerary for the fourth day. This led to a last-minute change in our plans.
Although the Nagasaki accommodation was a deluxe room with breakfast included at a reasonable price of around 7,000 yen and was refundable, we canceled it and chose this hotel instead due to its excellent location.
The hotel's proximity to Kumamoto Station made it incredibly convenient, especially since we were traveling from Kagoshima to Nagasaki and Saga Prefectures the previous day. The Shinkansen allowed for speedy travel, and the hotel's location made access seamless.
For instance, there was a 13-minute transfer window from the Mizuho to the Sakura Shinkansen. During this time, we managed to check in, store our luggage, order from Starbucks via mobile, pick it up, and still had 1 minute and 27 seconds to spare. 😎
The next morning, after breakfast and checking out, we stored our luggage ourselves and lined up for the unreserved seats on the Shinkansen. This entire process took only about 6 minutes and 45 seconds. 🤗
Although the hotel is located within Amu Plaza, the hotel floors are separated and accessible via a dedicated elevator, ensuring privacy. We were upgraded from a business double room to a double room.
The guest rooms are located on the 9th to 12th floors, with about 50-60 rooms per floor arranged in a square layout. There are only two elevators, but they are quick because they exclusively serve the 9th to 12th floors. To exit the building, you need to transfer to another elevator from the 9th floor to the 1st floor.
The double room features a shower booth instead of a bathtub. However, there is a small public bath exclusively for hotel guests. The public bath provides face towels, but you need to bring your body towel from your room and take it back after use.
Breakfast is served at a restaurant that appears to be part of the same chain as the hotel. The meal is well-organized and cleanly presented.
The hotel operates a self-service luggage storage system with a dedicated storage room conveniently located near the elevators, making it easy to store and retrieve your belongings. Overall, it is a clean and modern hotel. Thank you.
