The Hague in Netherlands is a vibrant city with rich history and stunning architecture. It is also the political centre of the Netherlands with many key institutions like the Dutch Parliament. More importantly, I went specially to see the painting - Girl with a Pearl Earring! Attractions: 1. Mauritshuis + Girl with a Pearl Earring Highlights - Mauritshuis is a famous art museum and has a great collection of artwork from Dutch Golden Age, including works by Vermeer and Rembrandt. Also, the museum building itself has beautiful architecture. Take time to admire the oil painting - Girl with a Pearl Earring by painter Johannes Vermeer. 2. Peace Palace Highlights - This is the seat of the International Court of Justice, the palace is stunning with beautiful gardens and rich history. 3. Binnenhof Highlights - A historic complex with very cool Gothic architecture and the iconic Hall of Knights. 4. Noordeinde Palace Highlights - Beautiful royal palace for Dutch monarch with elegant architecture. 5. Grote market Highlights - This is a lively central marketplace, where you can find so manh shops selling fresh produce, local delicacies. The Hague is a major hub for consulates, with most countries having their consulates located here. The Hague is also home to the famous painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring.' Originally housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, it was later moved to the Mauritshuis in The Hague. I traveled all the way here to see it 🥺. However, the Mauritshuis is relatively small, and compared to the national museum, it might not meet your expectations. If you're interested in visiting, you might want to consider this. The weather in The Hague changes frequently, with sunny skies one moment and heavy rain the next. Because of this, you might even see double rainbows 😆. After arriving in The Hague, I finally understood why you often see bicycles being fished out of the canals in Dutch videos. The wind here is really strong; even without a typhoon, the wind is strong enough to blow you away.

The passage; A shopping complex with plenty of items and food you can get from. The unique thing about The Passage is because of the grand architecture, glass-roofed shopping arcade dating from 1885, the passageway reminds me of St. Hubert in Brussels. 2. H&M; Located just opposite of The Passage, probably the fanciest H&M branch I ever entered. 3. Binnenhof Viewing Tower; You may enter for free. This viewing tower offers a unique view of the 800-year-old architecture of the Binnenhof during the renovation. 4. The New Church; Protestant Church with small cafe available in the facility. I was not able to go inside but it was a nice walk around the church.

Den Haag Centraal is the largest railway station in the city of The Hague in South Holland, Netherlands, and with twelve tracks, the largest terminal station in the Netherlands. The railway station opened in 1973, adjacent to its predecessor: Den Haag Staatsspoor, which was subsequently demolished. I was surprised with those buildings along our way to the central station, the tall and new buildings that are seldom seen in Europe since almost buildings here are historical and preserved. #summervacay I had a fantastic and pretty well-planned day trip, even if it was a bit spontaneous, exploring the beautiful cities of The Hague and Rotterdam! Getting to The Hague: I used Google Maps to navigate from my place to The Hague Centraal Station (Den Haag Centraal). I hadn't been to Amsterdam Centraal before, so I took a moment to check it out (if you exit the metro, you'll see it). Just a tip: you need to go up from the metro level to the ground floor to catch the trains. It was super easy to just tap my credit card to get in and out of both the metro and train gates, and the train ticket was around €14.50. Southern Holland Day Pass: A Game Changer! Once I got to The Hague Centraal, I headed straight to the Information Office (Service Window), specifically windows 6 or 7. They opened at 9 AM, and I picked up the Southern Holland Small Towns Day Pass for €17. I can confirm, having tested it out, that this ticket is incredibly worth it! It covers non-train public transport for a bunch of towns in South Holland, including The Hague, Rotterdam, Delft, and even the Kinderdijk windmills, which are a bit further out. Exploring The Hague: A Serene Escape The Hague truly felt like a very tranquil city, perfect for just wandering around. My visit included: A stop at the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery. Seeing the iconic Peace Palace. A quick walk through Chinatown. Strolling along the lakeside paths, watching the seagulls and feeling the breeze. Having a delicious lunch at Little V. Back to The Hague & Evening Delights: I headed back to The Hague from Rotterdam around 6:00 PM, and just like magic, the sun came out again – perfect timing! On the way, I saw this small but incredibly lively parade making a huge sound and I only spotted them after hearing them for ages! I also managed to catch the very end of a market that's only open on Thursdays and Sundays (you can find it by searching for the "British Embassy in the Netherlands," It was such a relaxing way to end my day. Due to its remote location and relatively inconvenient transportation, most tourists would choose popular museums during their precious travel time and abandon these less popular museums; but if you are an art lover, especially contemporary art, you must go there no matter how far away it is. This is a private contemporary art museum. Not only are the exhibits rich and dazzling, but the expression techniques are also very different from those of famous museums in the Netherlands.
