Tiang Capsule Hostel in Silom, Bangkok
The location is somewhat convenient yet inconvenient at the same time. It takes at least 20 minutes to walk to the nearest BTS station, but the surrounding area offers great amenities. Right outside the hostel, there’s a coffee shop, a 7-11 on the right, and the nearby alley is filled with massage parlors.
On a side note, I recommend a massage shop called The Prime Massage. The prices are reasonable, and the therapists are highly skilled ❤️👍.
The hostel’s common areas are clean and comfortable, with a gray industrial-style decor. I stayed in a single bed in the male dormitory. The bed was quite spacious, and the room had lockers with card access for storing valuables. Suitcases can be placed in the corner of the hallway. I stayed for two nights and found it quite enjoyable. However, the main door to the room is often slammed shut loudly, which might require some mental preparation (this is more of a guest etiquette issue).
There are shared showers and toilets available, and they are very clean. The water pressure is super strong 😂, and the hot water is indeed hot. The lockers provide a large bath towel, and both shower gel and shampoo are available👌👍.
Overall, I liked the place, but I encountered a very impatient receptionist during check-in, which made the experience unpleasant. Other than that, everything was great. I booked my stay for 420 NTD per night.
