Pulau Tidung (Tidung Island) is one of the popular holiday islands in the Thousand Islands of Jakarta. It is very suitable for couples to take a two-day weekend trip. It is located in the northwest of Jakarta. If you want to visit here, you must go to Muara Angke Pier in the north of Jakarta early in the morning to take a boat. The journey takes about 2 and a half hours, and you must depart at 7 am. Tidung Island is actually two islands. Only the larger one is inhabited. The smaller one is an ecological protection area and you can also go hiking there. The biggest feature of Tidung Island is that the two islands are connected by a pink love bridge. This love bridge is very romantic and very suitable for couples to visit. The larger island is like a big village, with many local people living there. You can rent a motorcycle to travel around the island to enjoy the scenery and experience village life. It is highly recommended to visit here!

The ride took about two and a half hour by a traditional boat from Jakarta. I had no expectation about this island, since I didn't do any research prior to my travel unlike my previous travels. Surprisingly, the island was so small, we can make a trip around the island by bike for just an hour. There were no car, only bicycles, motorbikes, and Bentors (rickshaw powered by a motorbike). The life on the island seems very tranquil, the people were nice, the food were good for a reasonable price considering it is a tourism attraction. The island's main attraction are water activities e.g. snorkeling, banana-boat riding, jet skiing, etc. The water was very clear and shallow so I imagined I had a waterproof smartphone so I could throw it to the water to make an excuse to jump into it. #urbanexplorer #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer#qingmingtravel
