Wat Woranat Bappat
Wat Woranat Bappat, Royal Monastery, Nakhon Sawan Province
🙏This is an ancient temple in Nakhon Sawan. It is assumed that this temple was built in the Sukhothai period. It was originally called Wat Pak Phra Bang by the city governor who built a pagoda, a temple, and dug a pond to plant lotus flowers to offer to the Buddha.
🌿One famous legend of this temple is that many novices came to ordain in the temple. But one fine day, the novices gradually disappeared without a trace, horrifying the people in that area. Until someone found traces at the mouth of a Buddha statue, there were pieces of robes stuck. And the Buddha image had grown in size from the original life-size. Until the shocking incident happened that the standing Buddha image became a lying-on-side position and was many times longer. This caused the abbot and relatives to close the gate, fence, and arrange for guards to guard this place. There was no more news of the novices disappearing.
