Thanks to the lake, fish dishes here are both affordable and delicious. From the town, tours are available to visit the islands floating on Lake Titicaca, including the Island of the Sun and the Island of the Moon.

~A rustic tourist destination with warm people~
📍Trip Overview
Puno City is the capital of Puno Department. It is located at 15°50′S and 71°01′W on the west shore of Lake Titicaca. It is 3850 meters above sea level.
The population is about 220,000. Like many other Peruvian cities, it has the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral in the center of the city. On a hill adjacent to the city, statues of the three sacred animals of the Incas, the condor, puma, and snake, are erected overlooking the city.
🚩Route
It can be reached by slow bus from Copacabana, Bolivia, in about 3 to 4 hours.
🏖️Photogenic Spot
You can take photos the whole time you are on the ferry.
🚇Transportation
The Uros Islands, part of Lake Titicaca in Puno, can be easily reached by booking a ferry the day before.
💡Notes
When applying with a tour company, you can usually get a discount if you bargain. The Uros Islands are a tourist destination, and since they are funded by tourism, there are souvenir shops on the islands, which are typical of tourist destinations, but personally, I think that being an island made of straw is a novelty and a recommended place in itself. However, some people did not have a very good experience.

❤The overall altitude of Peru is high. When you first reach the plateau, move slowly. Do not consume too much energy. Drink hot water and eat more fruits rich in vitamin C.
❤High-altitude areas generally have lower temperatures, large temperature differences between morning and evening, day and night, rapid weather changes, and high ultraviolet intensity in high-altitude areas. Pay attention to keep warm and protect yourself from the sun

so it is said to have been influenced by the Inca civilization long ago ☀️
So when you go to Lake Titicaca,
you will see statues of the sun god and moon god holding corn

Lake Titicaca, the highest and largest freshwater lake in the world
Lake Titicaca is the largest freshwater lake in South America and the highest in the world (3,800 meters). It is located on the border between Peru and Bolivia. It is a jointly owned freshwater lake and a navigable lake.
If you want to visit this place, you can go to Puno, where there are many local tours to Lake Titicaca for two days and one night. I would recommend friends who want to go there to stay in Puno for two to three days first, because this place is more than 3,800 meters above sea level, and it is very easy to get altitude sickness. In addition, the temperature difference between day and night is very large, so let your body adapt first before going to Lake Titicaca.
For a two-day, one-night tour, the tour guide will arrange for everyone to stay in the houses of the island residents. Remember to bring warm clothes, because the temperature at night can drop to several degrees below zero. Although the residents prepared three thick blankets for me, I was too cold to fall asleep.
The main purpose of the trip is to hike and enjoy the entire trip and lake view.
Transportation guide - long-distance bus to Puno, join local tour to arrange transfer and boat to Lake Titicaca𡷊
Local attractions - Lake Titicaca freshwater lake
Hotel - home of Lake Titicaca residents
Food and restaurants - local food provided by residents

[Uros Floating Islands] Floating islands on Lake Titicaca
An ethnic group living on Lake Titicaca, a lake on the border between Bolivia and Peru, at an altitude of over 3,800m.
The "Uros Islands" floating on the lake
They are made of "straw" called totora, and are a collective name for about 40 floating islands.
Most people land on the Uros Islands as part of a tour. The boat trip departs from the pier and takes about 40 minutes. There are totora floating along the way, so the trip moves relatively slowly.
As soon as we land, the tour guide will show us a large board and give us an overview of Lake Titicaca and the Uros Islands in English and Spanish.

It's not a sea, it's a lake(?)🚤
Lake Titicaca in Bolivia is the largest lake in South America
It's located on the border of Peru and Bolivia
It felt like heaven because of the calmly floating boats and the surrounding scenery
There were various activities to enjoy on the lake, as expected from a place with a large body of water
I experienced riding a transparent ball that floated leisurely on the lake
It was a unique experience because I could lie still and enjoy the scenery😎

Coach traveling on the river
This is a traditional way for coach to crossing the river at Peru. Driving the coach to the special boat by a skilled driver, that is not easy task. Whole coach will be dropped into river by inaccurate calculation. I can see how hard for this training.

Titikaka Lake & Taquile, Blue Paradises
Getting There - These places are located in Peru, near to the border with Bolivia. You can take a one hour and a half hour flight from Lima to Juliaca, and then a one hour bus or taxi to Puno.
Attractions - The splendid mountains are part of this charming area, with vast golden flora all over the place. Once you arrive to Puno, the deep blue sky and marvelous blue waters of the Titikaka Lake will take your breath away.
Hotels - For a full and outstanding experience, I recommend to stay at the Titilaka Relais & Chateaux Hotel in Plareria, 50 km away from the city of Puno.
Food & Restaurants - The food is mainly based in fish and seafood, although the Hotel Titilaka is an all inclusive experience and they have a gourmet kitchen with varieties of spices, seeds and vegetables from the area.
Shopping - Mainly totora souvenirs made from this plant of the lake. Wool extraordinary works made from Alpaca, compose a collection of sweaters, blankets, gloves and other beautiful handcrafts.

On the Kay
On the Kayao Plateau at the junction of Bolivia and Peru, there is the world's largest plateau freshwater lake. Such a floating island completely woven from reeds faces the sun and the lake. There is no sound except the natural sound. Pull the children to go boating together, play with nature, play with the children, completely empty, high? nonexistent. Its name is a bit strange: Lake Titicaca
imissqingqing.
Once upon
Once upon a time there was a floating island with a reed that was small to the island that was not shown on the map... The blue plateau of the lake, the crispy reed, the footsteps of the boat, the straw chair, and the three-year-old hand. The bear child who has succeeded in the mouth... The so-called years are so good.
Miya & Onion.
Looking fo
Looking for a piece of reed, stacking up a floating island, covering a few cottages, raising a few fish, ducks, rowing their own boats, spending 10 minutes to go to the opposite side of the island to buy two bags of noodles and the way to the neighbors said that the leisure here is not extravagant Time is not busy, people are not anxious. The smile here is overflowing from life...
