Nijo Market - Oiso🐟 Main Store Every time I come to Sapporo, I always visit here for a bowl of sea urchin rice bowl. The freshness and price advantage due to its local sourcing are unbeatable. Compared to Tokyo, the price is at least one-third cheaper, and it's even more affordable compared to prices in Taiwan. 🫢 This renowned shop in Nijo Market has been my go-to for three visits now. This time, I finally got to try their summer-exclusive, limited-edition dual-colored sea urchin rice bowl featuring purple sea urchin and horse-dung sea urchin 🥰. Of course, I indulged in an extra portion 🤭. Among the three sea urchin rice bowls I tried during this solo trip, this one was the most satisfying 😙. One of the highlights of this trip was convincing my travel companion, who usually dislikes lamb, to give it a try. They ended up loving it and kept saying, "This is so delicious!" When I first started coming here, I insisted on dining at the main branch. However, the wait times there are quite long. Over time, more branches have opened in the Susukino area, offering more comfortable seating and much better ventilation systems. Some branches even allow online reservations. Includes the figure skating ice rink used in the Sapporo Olympics Makomanai Park was the main venue used in the 1972 Sapporo Olympics. “The Makomanai Sekisui Heim Ice Arena” is where the figure skater Janet Lynn charmed the people with her spectacular performance and it is opened to the public (admission fee required) during the winter months. There is a 3km circular course in the park, and is populated with runners and joggers during the summer and cross country skiers during the winter. On the 82ha park area, there are approximately 50,000 natural trees and a tree as old as 135 years.
