Chopin said, "I have found my dream Mediterranean." And he never left again. 🛫 Day 1: Palma Cathedral and Old Town 🌅 Arrive in Palma by plane from Barcelona or Madrid early morning (about 1-1.5 hours). Take a taxi straight from the airport to Palma Cathedral (La Seu), a Gothic-style ocean version, with renovations by Gaudí. The cathedral’s rose window is called the "Gothic Eye." At noon, sunlight streams through, casting colorful beams across the hall, like God descending. Next door is the Almudaina Palace, the summer residence of the Kings of Mallorca. 🍽️ At noon, dive into the Olivar Market in the old town, start with fresh oysters and sparkling wine, and share a paella for two. In the afternoon, stroll the cobblestone alleys of the old town, visit the Arab Baths—the only remaining Islamic relic—and enjoy coffee at Plaza Mayor while watching street performers. 🌃 At dusk, head to Bellver Castle, the only circular castle in Europe, perched on a hilltop. Watch the sunset over Palma Bay as the whole city is bathed in golden light. 🌊 Day 2: Northwest Coast - The Most Beautiful Driving Route 🌞 Rent a car in the morning and drive north along the Ma-10 road, one of Europe’s most beautiful coastal roads. First stop: Sóller, where a century-old wooden tram clatters from the port to the town. Valldemossa is the winter village of Chopin and George Sand; his piano remains in the monastery garden. 🍽️ For lunch, dine at C’an Costa next to Chopin’s former home—roast suckling pig and local sweet wine are must-tries. 🌊 In the afternoon, arrive at Formentor, the northwesternmost seaside town on the map. Climb the cliffs to see Sa Foradada, the "Pierced Rock." At sunset, the sun shines through the rock hole, and sailboats draw golden lines on the sea. 🚤 Day 3: Southeast Coast - Jelly Sea and Trendy Beaches 🌞 Head to Colònia de Sant Jordi in the morning, Mallorca’s most rustic seaside town. Take a boat to explore "Turkish Blue" (Caló des Moro), where the jelly-like sea is unrealistically blue. Nearby, "Witch Beach" (Cala Macarella) is surrounded by pine forests with clear water and fine sand. 🍽️ For lunch, enjoy a seafood barbecue on S’Amarador Beach (grilled squid, large shrimp, sardines), sitting on a beach mat with toes buried in the sand. 🌊 In the afternoon, visit Cala Figuera, a cliffside village. The Drach Caves (Coves del Drac) house the world’s largest underground lake, where classical concerts echo underground. Take a small boat through the caves, looking up at stalactites hanging like frozen waterfalls. ⛰️ Day 4: Tramuntana - Ridge Hiking and Farewell 🌞 Hike the Tramuntana Mountains (a World Heritage site) in the morning, starting from Escorca. The ridge trail has snowy peaks on one side and the deep blue Mediterranean on the other. Along the way, see ancient terraces, stone farmhouses, and hear the bells of grazing sheep. 🍽️ Have lunch in Fornalutx, known as Mallorca’s most beautiful village. Stone houses are covered with wisteria, and you can eat Mallorca bread with olive oil and tomato sauce under the old banyan tree in the square. 🌊 In the afternoon, visit the natural salt flats (Salines de Llevant), where salt piles look like snow mountains. At sunset, the salt ponds reflect the sky like a pink-purple magic mirror. Pack the blue, gold, and white of Mallorca into your memory and take it on the plane. ⛺ Must-Do Highlights · Palma Cathedral: Gaudí renovation + Gothic Eye rose window · Ma-10 Road: Most beautiful northwest coastal drive · Valldemossa: Chopin’s winter piano retreat · Caló des Moro: Turkish Blue jelly sea · Drach Caves: Underground lake classical concerts · Tramuntana Hiking: Snowy peaks on one side, sea on the other 🏨 Accommodation: Stay in Palma Old Town (convenient for food and drink) / Northwest Coast (stunning scenery) / Southeast Coast 🚇 Transportation: Flights to Palma from major Spanish cities (1-1.5 hours); strongly recommend renting a car to enjoy the coastal roads; boats can be rented for island beaches 🍽️ Must-Eats: Roast suckling pig, Spanish paella, fresh oysters, sweet wine, Mallorca bread 💡 Tips: Best time is May-June or September-October to avoid crowds in July-August; sunscreen + sunglasses + wide-brimmed hat are Mediterranean essentials; mountain goats cross slower than cars on mountain roads; some beaches require advance booking in July-August 🌟 In Mallorca, the Mediterranean blue is endless. Chopin found his dream, and you find yours. After Mallorca, all other seas feel just okay. Next time, come back when the apricot blossoms fill the valleys~👋

Mallorca is an island of contrasts, where turquoise bays coexist with mountainous landscapes, and bustling resorts with secluded fishing villages. Here are 10 unmissable spots. 🏝️ Southeast Coast (Santanyí and Cala d'Or) 1. Cala Llombards – a perfect beach with white sand and turquoise water, equipped with everything you need: sun loungers, showers, and a chingurito. Easy access and parking make it an excellent choice for a family vacation. 2. Caló des Moro – the island's most photogenic and crystal-clear bay. This small strip of sand is squeezed between cliffs, and the water here is reminiscent of the Caribbean. Access is a 15-20-minute walk; arrive strictly before 9:30 AM. 3. Cala s'Almunia – a picturesque fishing cove with stone platforms and old houses. Ideal for snorkeling and cliff jumping. Accessible via stairs, comfortable shoes are required. 4. S'Almonia is a nearby location known for cliff jumping (jumping from 8-18 meter cliffs). Crystal clear water, a giant natural pool, and caves for swimming. 120 steps down—and you're in paradise. 5. Cala Sa Nau is a picturesque cove in the municipality of Felanitx with a great chill-out vibe. Bamboo loungers, a beach bar with cocktails, and relaxing music. A favorite spot for surfers. 6. Cala d'Or and Cala Gran are a resort area with a series of cozy coves (Cala Gran, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Ferrera). Deep coves with turquoise water, surrounded by cliffs and pine trees. Developed infrastructure: from boat rentals to diving schools. 7. Cala Figuera is not so much a beach as a charming fishing village. The labyrinthine natural port, white houses, boats, and nets create the perfect atmosphere for leisurely strolls and unhurried photoshoots. 🌊 North and West: Contrasts and Mountains 8. Platja de Muro is the longest beach on the northern coast (over 6 km). White sand, dunes, and pine trees reach right to the water. It is well-equipped, and there is even a nudist area. Ideal for those who enjoy space. 9. Torrent de Cala Pi is a unique cove at the mouth of a mountain stream. A 40-meter strip of sand is squeezed between high cliffs, the water shimmering from turquoise to emerald. A staircase dating back to the Moorish era is carved into the cliff. Nearby are caves and a 16th-century watchtower. 10. Porto de Sóller and Sa Calobra are classics of the west coast. Porto de Sóller is an authentic fishing town with a tram service. Sa Calobra is a legendary bay at the foot of the Tramontana, accessible by a winding road or by boat. The famous Torren de Pareis gorge route begins here. 🌆 City Attractions Palma is the island's capital. Its main treasures include the Gothic La Seu Cathedral, with stained glass windows and interiors designed by Gaudí, and the unique 14th-century Bellver Castle, with panoramic views of the bay. And for yachting enthusiasts, there's Port d'Andratx: a former fishing village transformed into an elite marina with chic restaurants and sunset views over Dragonera Island. #Mallorca #BeachesOfMallorca #CalaDelMoro #CalaLlombards #PalmaDeMallorca #PlatjaDeMuro #SaCalobra #TravelAroundSpain #CovesOfMallorca

#bucketlistreboot Can Joan located at Carrer de Sant Ramon de Penyafort, 1, 07108 Port de Soller. Open daily from 12 PM to 11PM. Sitting near the table facing the marina that the boats are berthing, the cool breeze blowing toward my face is very enjoyable. I ordered grilled local fish and Copa Sangria Clasica. The cooking took almost 40 minutes maybe it is lunch time. The fish is fresh with tomato sauce on it. Most of the popular restaurants over there are full of people during lunch time. So I suggest you come after the lunch time period, then the wait will be lesser. The atmosphere and environment is nice over the restaurant

A lovely small hotel right in the center of Sóller, just steps away from the train station that hosts the historic train to Palma and the tram stop leading to Port De Sóller. The main square, cafes, restaurants, shopping streets, bakeries, and key attractions are all within walking distance. You can also start great hikes directly from town on the GR walking trail. The local bus service to Valldemossa and Deià is fast and convenient. We stayed in a charming room that wasn’t in the main building—it was clean, comfortable, and spacious, featuring a great bathroom and a walk-in shower. The mountain view rooms in the main building must be stunning! The small pool was delightful, perfect for relaxing after a day of walking. Breakfast was excellent, available starting at 7:30 am, and could be enjoyed either in the restaurant or the lovely courtyard. Though we didn’t have much interaction with the staff, they were courteous and responsive whenever we did. This hotel is an excellent choice for a short getaway or a stay of up to a week.

Rafa was our captain and gave us an incredible experience. I strongly recommend booking with this company. He took us to many hidden coves along the water’s edges, as well as great swimming spots and stunning beaches where we paused to enjoy a swim.

Our Junior Suite was perfect, set in a spacious historic property with charming nooks and lovely views. The staff was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding. The beach promenade was just a 3-minute walk away, yet the location was incredibly quiet.

The structure you see in Sóller's vibrant main square is the Església de Sant Bartomeu (Church of Saint Bartholomew)—and honestly, it’s an architectural flex you won’t find anywhere else! Located at Plaça de sa Constitució, 1, 07100 Sóller, Mallorca, Spain, this Insta-worthy spot is a total must-see for history buffs, design geeks, and anyone chasing unique Mediterranean vibes. Architecture & History This church has been serving looks since the 13th century—with a mash-up of epic styles that slap. The facade? Pure Catalan Modernisme (aka Art Nouveau), totally leveled-up with Gothic vibes. Designed in 1904 by Joan Rubió i Bellver (yep, Gaudí’s protégé!), the jaw-dropping exterior was finished in 1947. Up close, you’ll spot a massive rose window, pointed gables, organic stone carvings, and fierce sculpted angels protecting the doors. But that’s just the start. Step inside and get hit with a whole Baroque mood—the interior dates back to a glam renovation between 1688 and 1733, so it’s basically a living timeline of Mallorca’s golden eras. This church is a testament to Sóller’s prosperity from the orange trade and its key role in Mediterranean history. Era Highlights (🏰➡️😲) Medieval Origins (1230s): Born soon after the Catalan conquest of Mallorca, the original church was a fortress against pirate raids. Baroque Era (1688–1733): The church got a glow-up! Swapped medieval bones for a grand, ornate Baroque interior that’s still stunning today. Modernisme Facelift (1904–1947): Sóller’s wealth exploded thanks to local oranges, so the town went full Art Nouveau—commissioning Rubió i Bellver to give the church a dramatic limestone makeover. How to Visit (Travel Basics) Pop by the center of Sóller’s social scene, right in Plaça de sa Constitució, and check out: · The epic nave (sooo grand!) · The impressive organ (seriously, it’s a classic) · The glowing rose window with colored sunlight streaming inside. · Optional: Tiny museum on site for just one extra euro Hours & Fees · Entry: €2 per person (adult general entry) · Combo ticket (church + museum): €3 · Morning is prime time! Sunbeams create gorgeous light shows through the window. Bonus Tip 🚋 Pair your visit with a ride on the iconic wooden Tren de Sóller tram—it rattles right past the church square, so you can easily hop from town center to the port. Looking for a spot that’s dripping in history, serving serious design inspo, and totally easy to visit? This boutique adults-only hotel in the center of Soller is absolutely stunning. We spent 6 nights here and had an unforgettable experience. The booking process was seamless with their excellent website, and upon arrival, we were greeted warmly with a cold glass of cava on the balcony overlooking the pool—an ideal way to unwind. Our room, number 6, was at the top of a gorgeous staircase and ready within 15 minutes of our 1 PM arrival—truly outstanding service. The team, including Matthew, Sophie, and Karen, was exceptional, always friendly, helpful, and engaging, making us feel completely at home in these beautiful surroundings. Breakfast and lunch were delicious, with top-notch flavors and service. Enjoying drinks by the pristine pool throughout the day was a highlight. The pool area and the entire hotel were spotless and well-maintained. Pool beds were always set up daily with fresh towels, creating a tranquil and sunny retreat. The hotel’s décor was impeccable, and our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed, high-quality linens, and spotless cleanliness. It exceeded our expectations in every way for our stay in Soller. You can easily walk to fantastic restaurants nearby, and the staff can arrange a taxi to the port for €13-15 if needed. This hotel truly delivered everything we hoped for and more.

We visited for our Golden Wedding celebration and upgraded to a junior suite, which perfectly met our hopes. The building is breathtaking both inside and out, especially the historic section where we stayed. The staff were all fantastic and friendly. Breakfast was complete with no shortages, and the facilities were spot on. Sunbeds were plentiful, and the grounds offered hidden spots to relax with a drink. The €31pp evening meal featured a buffet for starters and desserts, with a wide selection of mains to order, far better than some average restaurants in nearby Soller. It was a great 8-day stay, followed by 3 days in Palma.

An absolutely wonderful place. The bay with the lighthouse truly set the scene. It’s easy to walk to the center of Puerto de Soller. There are so many lovely restaurants and cafés, along with small, cozy shops. The typical Spanish fishing boats were docked in the harbor, offering a charming sight for tourists. It’s a place I’d happily return to.

We stayed at Hotel Marina for 10 days, as my husband, who had previously visited with his motorbiking friends, was eager for us to experience it together. The hotel itself is stunning—immaculately clean and well-maintained. We had a slightly larger room equipped with a sink, hob, and microwave, which, though unused, was reassuring to have on hand. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were a letdown—hard, foam-like, and very uncomfortable. Even after requesting a replacement, the issue remained. The breakfast was outstanding—healthy and nourishing, while the machine coffee was delightful. However, long queues for fresh orange juice in the mornings were a bit inconvenient. Overall, this hotel is a gem, especially given its excellent location.
