Myanmar border @ Chiang Rai
The northernmost part of Siam, admire the beauty of the two countries, Mae Sai border
Mae Sai-Tachilek Market, a shopping center on the Thai-Burmese border, has a lot of things for sale, I can say that there is almost everything, fashion clothes, accessories, toys, food, various kinds of nuts. We walked around the Thai side of the market first, walked up to worship at Wat Phra That Doi Wao first, walked up the stairs, very tired. The top of the temple is very beautiful, you can see the Mekong River, and see the side of Burma as well. Try to stop by to see the view.
After that, we walked down and crossed over to visit Tachilek on the Burmese side. Crossed over to Tachilek, the northernmost part of Thailand, adjacent to Tachilek Province of Burma, with the Mae Sai River as the border.
There is a bridge connecting the two cities. Thai people can travel across the border to visit the side of Burma every day from 06.30 - 18.00 by using an ID card or other cards issued by the government. The service fee is 30 baht per person, the border crossing fee into Burma is 10 baht. When crossing over to the Burmese side, we looked for something strange to eat. I tried something similar to Khanom Jeen, I don't know what it's called, it was delicious. Then we had Burmese tea, very delicious and fragrant. Not too sweet, delicious. Let's try it. After walking around for a while, there will be a tricycle inviting us to ride to visit the Shwedagon Pagoda replica for 50-80 baht/person. But we didn't have much time, so we didn't go. We continued shopping. There are many things sold on the Burmese side, similar to the Thai side. #ChiangRaiTravel #ThaiBurmaCheckpoint
