Kyoto has been on my must see list for a few years and finally I made it. There are so many things to see and I decided day one head outside after my 9am hotel breakfast. I recommend to book a hotel with breakfast because it requires some effort to find a restaurant that opens before 11 or 11:30 in Japan. 1 - Kyoto Station and Kyoto Tower. A bit of the modern world. 2 - Nishi Hongan-ji. The wood that was used in this Temple and the entry gates is gorgeous and some of the pillars and beams are massive. 3- Strolling along some residential streets and go into a 100¥ shop. 4 - We had to stop for an iced and very sugary milk oolong bubble tea and it was delicious. 5 - Gion, Yasaka Pagoda, Yasaka Pagoda. These areas had the most tourists and from all over the world. 6 - Sushi dinner - We had met some Japanese sisters from Tokyo and they told us about a great place. My Japanese is limited but I can use the vocabulary to create sentences, it helps!#japantravel #kyoto #travel2026 #japan #sushi #kansai Now what to plan for Day 2? Any suggestions?

Imagine living on a tiny island surrounded by towering ocean cliffs, where a lush green village sits inside the crater of an ancient volcano. Welcome to Aogashima, one of Japan’s most remote and extraordinary inhabited islands. Located in the Philippine Sea, far south of Tokyo, this remarkable island is part of the Izu Islands. #hotdiscussions Is "Splurged on luxury travel and got let down" emerging as a theme through my past few posts? Booked holidays after a busy time at work, so I invested in business class tickets to get some sleep during my Delhi/Tokyo flights, and booked JAL as it's my preferred company and they had direct flights✈️ Service was, as always with JAL, perfect. But I am pretty sad to say my inflight vegan meals were disappointing!😩 It was better on my way to Delhi: as pictured, I got the little menu card and a few words about the chef that curated it. But having flown economy with JAL on long-haul flights several times last year, I have the impression I got served a very similar meal in economy But all that matters is I had a good creative and original appetizer and dessert.🍰 The main dish was curry, it tasted fine but lacked a bit of originality as curry is, in Japan, the most common vegan options at restaurants.🍛 The disappointment happened on my way back: as pictured, I had a simple corn salad and tomato sauce penne which looked so cheap compared to the other meals served around me. Both the Jp or international cuisine option had a plate of 6 hors-d'oeuvres, and a nice original main dish. And the second big disappointment was that the snacks available were cheese and instant noodles that all contained animal products!😮💨 Back home in Tokyo I got really sick, but was so bummed out by this experience that I wrote to JAL customer service, to which they replied that they will share my precious feedback to improve future meals😅 So tell me, have you ever been disappointed by a luxury splurge? If so, how did you handle it and what was the outcome? Share your stories and make me feel better🥹 #luxurytravel #japanairlines #japan #japantrip #vegan #businessclass #plantbased #vegetarian #foodietravel

Have you seen those addictive videos on Reels or TikTok of three multicolored trains crossing at different levels against a backdrop of futuristic rails? Capturing the moment when they're all moving at once creates a truly cinematic shot. A true paradise for aesthetes and urban lovers! ℹ️ Useful information: · How to get there: Ochanomizu Station (JR Chuo/Sobu Line or Marunouchi Subway Line). Japan has always been a dream destination, and exploring it over a 9-day journey was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, awe-inspiring sights, and lots of walking! ✈️🇯🇵 To be completely honest, navigating Japan’s transit system was a real challenge at first. Between taking a few wrong train routes (which cost us extra Yen! 😂🚆) and walking tens of thousands of steps daily until our feet hurt, it was exhausting. But despite the fatigue and tight budget, every single moment felt like a core memory. Here are 10 incredible spots we explored that made every single step worth it: 1. 🗽 Odaiba Statue of Liberty: Gorgeous coastal views with the iconic Rainbow Bridge in the background. 2. ⛩️ Senso-ji Temple: Tokyo’s oldest and most vibrant traditional temple. 3. 🚦 Shibuya Crossing: The legendary, fast-paced scramble crossing that truly captures Tokyo's energy. 4. 🦖 Godzilla Head & Shinjuku: Exploring the neon-lit, energetic heart of Shinjuku. 5. ⚡ Akihabara: The ultimate paradise for anime, gaming, and pop culture fans. 6. 🗻 Mount Fuji: Witnessing Japan’s majestic and iconic natural wonder. 7. ⛩️ Fushimi Inari Torii Gates (Kyoto): Walking through thousands of vermilion torii gates up the sacred mountain. 8. 🎋 Arashiyama Bamboo Grove (Kyoto): Wandering through soaring green bamboo stalks in pure tranquility. 9. 🏮 Shinsekai (Osaka): Nostalgic retro vibes, glowing signboards, and bustling street culture. 10. 🌆 Osaka City: A lively city full of charm (even though a bit of rain forced us to slow down!). 🌸 The Only Regret? Missing the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) season! Since we traveled off-season, seeing the cherry blossoms remains an unfulfilled dream. InshaAllah, I’ll be back one day just for the pink blooms! 🥀✨ 💡 Practical Pro Tips for First-Timers to Japan: Don't Overpack Your Day: Limit your itinerary to 2–3 major spots per day so you don't burn out. Master the Transit Apps: Use Google Maps or Navitime to double-check train lines, platform numbers, and fares to avoid wrong turns. Stay Near a Metro Station: Ensure your hotel is within a short walking distance of a major station. Wear Very Comfortable Shoes: You will easily log 15,000–25,000 steps daily. Comfortable walking shoes are a lifesaver! 👟 Plan Around Seasons: If Sakura or autumn foliage is a priority, double-check blooming forecasts before booking flights. Locate Halal Spots in Advance: Halal options aren't available at every convenience store, so mark Halal-certified eateries on your map beforehand. Despite the swollen feet and navigation mistakes, Japan completely captured my heart! 🖤🇯🇵 💬 To those who have visited Japan: Which spot was your absolute favorite? 💬 If Japan is still on your bucket list: Which place are you dreaming of visiting first? If you're looking for truly delicious yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) in the Kamata area of Tokyo, you should definitely visit "Yakiniku Sansui-en." Located within walking distance of JR Kamata Station and Tokyu Kamata Station, this long-established yakiniku restaurant has been loved by local foodies and yakiniku fans for many years. With its calm and unassuming appearance that blends seamlessly into the bustling streets of Kamata, stepping inside reveals a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and homey. Sansui-en's greatest appeal lies in its high-quality meat, carefully selected by the owner's discerning eye, and its many traditional dishes prepared with meticulous care. The menu offers a wide variety, from classic cuts like akarubi (short ribs) and sirloin to rare cuts and offal. The first dish you absolutely must try is the "Tan-shio" (salted tongue). Cut to the perfect thickness, the tongue is lightly grilled on the grill and, when you put it in your mouth, the savory aroma is followed by a burst of flavor that intensifies with every bite. The perfect balance of salt and pepper, combined with the refreshing taste of lemon, will capture your appetite from the very first dish. The subsequent "kalbi" and "loin" dishes will not disappoint. The kalbi, with its beautiful marbling, releases its sweet, high-quality fat when cooked, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Its refined texture, without the heaviness of fat, is a key feature, and it pairs perfectly with the homemade special sauce. This sauce is also exceptional; its deep, sweet and savory soy sauce base enhances the meat's natural flavor, making it incredibly addictive with rice or beer. For those who want to fully appreciate the umami of lean meat, the loin is recommended, offering a satisfying chewiness and rich meaty flavor to your heart's content. Furthermore, Sansui-en is irresistible for offal lovers. The carefully prepared offal has absolutely no unpleasant odor, and its plump texture and the delicious flavor of the fat that spreads with every bite are outstanding. The offal, seasoned with special sauces and salt, is so delicious you'll be hooked after just one bite. Beyond the meat, the high quality of the side dishes and à la carte items is another major strength of this restaurant. In particular, the "cold noodles" are a must-try signature dish when visiting Sansui-en. The noodles, with their pleasant chewiness and smooth texture, are perfectly complemented by the clear, flavorful broth made with carefully prepared stock. The balance of sourness and umami is perfect, making it the ideal way to finish off a meal of yakiniku. The refreshing aftertaste makes you want to drink every last drop of the soup, further enhancing your satisfaction. In addition, the kimchi and namul assortments, packed with concentrated umami, and the rich soups (such as yukgaejang and kalbi soup) also boast authentic flavors, demonstrating that no corners are cut in the side dishes. The restaurant's interior features spacious seating, primarily tables, creating a comfortable atmosphere whether you're dining with friends or family, or simply want to enjoy delicious meat alone. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they kindly answer questions about grilling time and recommended dishes. It's clear that the reason for its long-standing popularity among locals lies not only in the delicious food but also in this warm service. Kamata is easily accessible from Haneda Airport, making it a convenient area for sightseeing and business trips. Compared to high-end yakiniku restaurants in famous downtown areas of Tokyo, Sansui-en boasts exceptional cost performance. It's a superb restaurant that perfectly fulfills the desire to "eat truly delicious meat at a reasonable price in a relaxed atmosphere." If you have the opportunity to visit Kamata, be sure to include a yakiniku dinner at Sansui-en in your evening itinerary. We guarantee it will be a wonderful dinner experience where you'll feel happiness with every bite! #KamataGourmet #KamataYakiniku #Sansui-en #TokyoYakiniku #DinnerTour #DeliciousColdNoodles #LongEstablishedYakinikuRestaurant #TokyoGourmetTrip #YakinikuInstagram

Introducing my beloved Tokyo DisneySea Hotel Miracosta, a place I've stayed at dozens of times! If you're going to Tokyo DisneySea, this is a hotel you'll want to stay at at least once... Tokyo DisneySea Hotel Miracosta 🏨✨ I've stayed there dozens of times, honestly, I've lost count! 😂💕 I've stayed at all the Disney hotels many times, but Miracosta is still my favorite! 🥹❤️ This time, I'll summarize what I love about Miracosta, something I've come to appreciate after staying there so many times! ✨ ⸻ 🏨 I prefer staying multiple nights at Miracosta! When I stay at Miracosta, I often choose to stay multiple nights. 🥰 The reason is... Because I can return to the hotel whenever I want! Especially when I'm playing at Tokyo DisneySea, If I think, "I'm a little tired..." I can return to my hotel room right away! ✨ I can rest for a bit and then return to the park! 🏰💕 This is incredibly convenient! If you're only staying one night, you might be tempted to think, "Since we're here, let's stay in the park until the very end!" But if you're staying multiple nights, you can: 🌊 Play in the park ↓ 🏨 Return to your room and rest ↓ ☕ Relax ↓ 🏰 Back to the park! This is the kind of experience you can have! 🥹✨ ⸻ 🌊 My absolute favorite is the harbor! My favorite is... The harbor side of the Porto Paradiso side! 🥹❤️ If I'm staying at the Miracosta, I definitely prefer a room with a view of Mediterranean Harbor! 🌊✨ The official website also describes the harbor view rooms as rooms where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Porto Paradiso harbor. (Tokyo Disney Resort) Of course, I enjoy watching the shows, but... What I like most is what happens after the shows are over! 🥹 ⸻ 🌙 I love watching DisneySea late at night! Even late at night, after the park has closed, if you look out at the park from your room... A little bit of the park's atmosphere still lingers 🌙✨ And depending on the timing, you might even see: 🚢 Practice for the harbor greeting barge 🌊 Work around the harbor ✨ The park at night And more! It's like, "Even though the park's closed, DisneySea is still moving...!" I love watching this 🥹💕 I just stare out the window and do nothing 😂 ⸻ 🌃 I also love the Venice side! Not just the harbor, I really love the Venice side too! 🥹💕 The Venice side is located on the side of Tokyo DisneySea's "Palazzo Canale" and the "Terme Venezia" hotel. (Tokyo Disney Resort) The night view here is truly beautiful ✨ 🚣 Gondola 🏨 Streetscape around the hotel 🗼 Tower of Terror 🚢 S.S. Columbia The illuminated scenery at night is so beautiful... I find myself gazing at it in awe 🥹🌃 It's a different kind of charm from the harbor view, enjoying DisneySea at night 💕 ⸻ 🌅 I've also stayed on the Tuscany side! I've stayed on the Tuscany side several times ✨ Among those, I've even stayed in a room with a view of the DisneySea Aquasphere 🥰 When you can see the Aquasphere, it gives you the feeling of "I'm really staying at DisneySea!" I like that feeling too 💕 Officially, the Tuscany side also offers rooms with a "DisneySea Aquasphere View." (Tokyo Disney Resort) However, personally, I often stay on the Porto Paradiso or Venice side rather than the Tuscany side. 🥰 ⸻ 🌙 Actually, "early morning and late night" are fun too! What I love about Miracosta is that it's not just during park operating hours! On the Porto Paradiso side, you can enjoy the harbor view 🌊 On the Venice and Tuscany sides, depending on the location, you can sometimes see: 🌙 The park at night 🌅 The park in the morning ✨ It's irresistible for those who love seeing the quiet DisneySea in the early morning or the illuminated park at night 🥹💕 ⸻ 🏰 And above all, "direct park connection"! One of Miracosta's biggest attractions is the hotel's direct connection to Tokyo DisneySea! This is so convenient! 😂💕 After walking a lot, "I'm so tired...🥲" Then, 🏰 Park ↓ 🚪 Hotel ↓ 🛏️ Your room is right there! There's no need to take the train or bus all the way back to the hotel! ✨ And after a rest, you can head back to the park! 🥰 You'll really appreciate this convenience when staying for multiple nights. ⸻ 🎉 Happy Entry too! There's also the "Happy Entry" perk for Disney hotel guests! ✨ At Tokyo DisneySea, this applies to guests staying at Hotel Miracosta and Fantasy Springs Hotel, allowing them to enter the park 5-15 minutes earlier than general guests. (Tokyo Disney Resort) A great perk for those who want to play a lot from the morning! 🥰 *Eligible dates and usage methods may change, so it's recommended to check the official website before your stay. ⸻ 🍽️ I love the hotel restaurants too! Hotel Miracosta has three restaurants: 🍽️ Oceano 🥟 Silk Road Garden 🍝 Bella Vista Lounge (Tokyo Disney Resort) ⸻ 🐟 Oceano I love the buffet at Oceano! 🥹💕 My favorite is... The fish dishes 🐟✨ Oceano is a Mediterranean restaurant, so you can enjoy dishes made with seafood. I've had not only the buffet, but also the course meals 🥰 And when I ate at a window seat some time ago... Eating while gazing at Tokyo DisneySea at night was absolutely amazing 🥹🌃 Being able to enjoy the park view while dining is something unique to Miracosta, isn't it? ✨ Also, depending on the time of day, you can sometimes enjoy the Tokyo DisneySea shows from the terrace 🌊✨ ⸻ 🥟 Silk Road Garden This is a Chinese restaurant 🥟✨ Their fried rice and other dishes are delicious, and I really like it 🥰 And, depending on the season... They sometimes have collaboration menus with Duffy! 🐻💕 Previously, the steamers were shaped like Duffy, So cute!! 😭🩷 And so it happened 😂 They sometimes have cute Disney-themed menu items, so it's a restaurant that Duffy fans should definitely check out 🐻✨ ⸻ 🍝 Bella Vista Lounge And then, Bella Vista Lounge ✨ It's a restaurant where you can enjoy Italian cuisine and drinks while overlooking the scenery of Tokyo DisneySea 🌊🍝 What I especially love is the time I spend eating while looking out at the park from the window 🥹💕 If the timing is right, you can even watch the harbor show from inside the restaurant. (Tokyo Disney Resort) When I stayed in a Speciale Room & Suite, I was happy that I could choose breakfast at the Bella Vista Lounge 🥐✨ Speciale Rooms & Suites include access to the exclusive lounge "Salone della Amico," and breakfast is included depending on the room. (Tokyo Disney Resort) ⸻ 🛏️ How do you make reservations at Miracosta? Here's my personal booking method, based on my dozens of stays! 😂 Of course, booking on the day reservations open is best! But… Popular rooms are hard to get! 🥲 So, I... I check for cancellations whenever I have free time, looking for the name of the room I want to stay in. 👀 Whenever I think, "I want to stay in this room!" I immediately check to see if there are any vacancies. Sometimes I book when a cancellation pops up! ✨ If you check repeatedly, "It wasn't there a moment ago, but now it's open!! 😳" So, my method is to keep checking without giving up! 😂💕 Of course, there's no guarantee of vacancies when picking up cancellations, so booking on the day reservations open is the safest option! ⸻ ❤️ Why I still love Miracosta even after dozens of stays I've stayed at all the Disney hotels many times. But I still love Hotel Miracosta the most 🥹❤️ The reasons are: 🌊 You can see the harbor 🌙 You can enjoy the park at night 🌅 You can see the park in the morning 🏰 Direct access to the park 🛏️ You can go back to your room as soon as you get tired 🎉 There's Happy Entry 🍽️ You can dine while overlooking the park 🐻 Sometimes they have cute Duffy-themed menus And most importantly, "Even though I'm staying at a hotel, I feel like I'm constantly inside Tokyo DisneySea" That's the feeling I get 🥹🌊✨ It's not just about playing in the park, you can enjoy Tokyo DisneySea including the time you spend gazing at the view from your room. That's why, even after staying dozens of times, I still love Hotel Miracosta 🏰❤️ #HotelMiracosta #Miracosta #TokyoDisneySea #DisneySea #DisneyHotel #DisneyTrip

Asakusa is one of Tokyo's most atmospheric and "old" neighborhoods. The area formed around Sensō-ji Temple and still retains the flavor of the Edo period: narrow streets, wooden stalls, rickshaws, and the scent of incense. It's the perfect place to experience "old Tokyo" while simultaneously seeing the city's modern symbol (Skytree). If you're in the area, be sure to explore the side streets—they offer an even more authentic atmosphere than the main tourist street. Main Attractions: 🔹Sensō-ji Temple (Asakusa Kannon) is Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple (legendarily founded in 628). Millions of people visit it annually. The complex includes: · The Main Hall (Hondo) with an image of Kannon. · A five-story pagoda. · Hōzōmon Gate with giant straw sandals (waraji). The temple grounds are open 24 hours a day, with the main hall usually open from 6:00–6:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Admission is free. Kaminarimon Gate (aka "Thunder Gate") 🔹The symbol of Asakusa and one of Tokyo's most recognizable photo spots. It features a huge red paper lantern (approximately 3.9 meters high and weighing 700 kg) flanked by statues of the gods of wind and thunder. The gate is located right at the exit of Asakusa Station. 🔹Nakamise-dōri Street: One of Japan's oldest shopping streets (approximately 250 meters long). Leads from Kaminarimon directly to the temple. There are about 90 stalls selling souvenirs, kimonos, traditional sweets, and street food. Alongside and nearby are Shin-Nakamise and other side streets, which are often quieter and more interesting. 🔹Asakusa Shrine: Next to the main hall of Senso-ji, it is dedicated to the three founders of the temple. The famous Sanja Matsuri festival takes place here in mid-May—one of the largest and most vibrant in Tokyo. What else to see and do 🔸Free observation deck on the 8th floor of the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center (building designed by Kengo Kuma, opposite Kaminarimon). Excellent views of the temple, pagoda, and Tokyo Skytree. 🔸Tokyo Skytree—a 634-meter-tall television tower directly across the Sumida River. You can walk or take the subway/boat. There are observation decks, a shopping mall, an aquarium, and a planetarium. 🔸Sumida Park along the river is especially beautiful in the spring during cherry blossom season. Great views of the Skytree and the golden Asahi Building. 🔸Hanayashiki amusement park is the oldest in Japan (since 1853). It's small, has a retro feel, and features some old rides. 🔸Ride a rickshaw or wear a kimono/yukata—in Asakusa, this looks especially natural against the backdrop of the temple and old streets. There are plenty of rental shops. 🔸Hoppy Street is a small izakaya district where you can enjoy the local Hoppy drink and Denki-Bran (post-war classics). 🔸Kappabashi is nearby – a "kitchen street" with dishes, knives, and everything you need for restaurants (you can buy high-quality knives and souvenirs). 🍡Food Be sure to try the street food in and around Nakamise: · Ningyō-yaki – small pastries shaped like people or animals with a filling of red bean paste, chocolate, or matcha. · Age-manju – fried sweet buns. · Senbei – rice crackers, including shrimp ones. · Dorayaki, mochi, sweet potato yokan, and other traditional sweets. 🚅 Getting there: Asakusa Station (Ginza, Asakusa, Tobu Skytree lines). ⏳Time: 2-4 hours is enough to see the main sites; half a day if you include the Skytree, river, and food. · Best time: early morning (less crowds, beautiful light) or evening (illumination). Weekends and holidays are very crowded.

Alternatives: · Regular Suica (green)—if you're traveling for longer than 28 days or planning a return (the deposit is refunded, as is the remainder, minus a fee of ~¥220). · Suica / PASMO in Apple Wallet (iPhone)—often the most convenient: you can issue it in advance, top it up with a card, and it doesn't have a 28-day validity period. · Welcome Suica Mobile—for iPhone only and valid for 180 days from activation. Before your flight, don't forget to use up any remaining balance at the airport. 😉

Tokyo has a way of surprising you: just minutes from Ginza and the Imperial Palace, there’s a park where you can forget about skyscrapers and simply wander among trees, fountains and flower beds. Hibiya Park is Japan’s first Western-style park, opened in 1903. It covers about 16 hectares and sits in Chiyoda, between the Imperial Palace, Ginza and the Kasumigaseki government district. It’s perfect for a relaxed walk: wide lawns, seasonal flower beds, two ponds and the iconic large fountain, which runs from 8:00 to 21:00 and is beautifully illuminated in the evening. One of the most photogenic spots is Kumogata Pond, with its elegant crane-shaped fountain. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom around the water; in late autumn, golden ginkgo trees and red maples reflect beautifully in the pond. The park also has a rose garden, tennis courts, a library, the historic Matsumotoro restaurant and the open-air Hibiya Yaon concert hall, which hosts concerts and city events throughout the year. 📍 Hibiya Park, Chiyoda, Tokyo 🚇 1–2 minutes from Hibiya or Kasumigaseki Station 🎟 Free entry, open 24/7 #hotdiscussions #japan #tokyo #familytravel

Sometimes, the best part of traveling in Japan isn't checking off every landmark on your list—it's the joy of driving and discovering your own favorite spots along the way. 🚗✨

The Tokaido Shinkansen line runs between Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka—the fastest and most convenient way to travel Japan's "golden route." Trains reach speeds of approximately 285–300 km/h, and up to 320 km/h on certain sections of Japanese lines. What trains are available? There are three main types of trains on this route. They travel along the same line, but differ in the number of stops and travel time. · Nozomi is the fastest option with the fewest stops. It takes approximately 2 hours 10–20 minutes from Tokyo to Kyoto, and 2 hours 30 minutes from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka. Departures approximately every 10 minutes. · Hikari is slightly slower due to its more frequent stops. The journey to Kyoto takes approximately 2 hours 40 minutes, and to Shin-Osaka, approximately 3 hours. Departs approximately twice an hour. · Kodama — stops at all stations on the line, making it primarily suitable for intermediate cities. The journey to Kyoto or Osaka can take up to 4 hours. It runs approximately twice an hour. Is there a price difference? Yes, but not much. The base price of tickets on the Nozomi, Hikari, and Kodama on the same route is almost the same: the difference is mainly due to the surcharge for the faster Nozomi and the seat class selected. · Tokyo to Kyoto: A standard car costs approximately 13,300–14,200 yen one-way. · Tokyo to Shin-Osaka: Approximately 14,500–15,000 yen for a standard seat with a reservation on the Nozomi. · Kyoto to Shin-Osaka: The journey takes approximately 15 minutes and costs from 1,450 yen without a reservation. Travel time from Osaka and Kyoto to Tokyo · Osaka (Shin-Osaka Station) - Tokyo: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes on Nozomi, approximately 3 hours on Hikari, and up to 4 hours on Kodama. · Kyoto - Tokyo: approximately 2 hours 10-20 minutes on Nozomi, approximately 2 hours 40 minutes on Hikari, and up to 4 hours on Kodama. It's important to remember the stations: in Osaka, the Shinkansen departs from Shin-Osaka Station, not Osaka Station. From there, the city center is easily reached by subway or regular JR train. How frequent are the trains? The intervals are very convenient. The Nozomi departs approximately every 10 minutes throughout the day, so you usually don't have to wait long for the train you need. Hikari and Kodama run less frequently, with approximately two trains per hour. Practical advice If you're buying tickets separately and just want a quick trip, choose the Nozomi: the extra charge is usually small, but the time savings are significant. If you have a Japan Rail Pass, check the terms and conditions in advance: the standard pass typically covers Hikari and Kodama, but the Nozomi may require an extra charge. For the short Osaka-Kyoto trip, the Shinkansen isn't always necessary: the regular JR Special Rapid train takes about 30 minutes and costs around 580 yen. The Shinkansen saves time, but is significantly more expensive. #Japan #Tokyo #Kyoto #Osaka #Shinkansen #JapanTravel #JapanTrains #Tripcom #traveljapan #japantravel #TokyoKyotoOsaka #BulletTrains #JapanTravelGuide #jrpass #JapanTravel

Hi, guys! Some travel aspirations fade within weeks; others endure for years. Sapporo has remained on my list since 2012, and the prospect of finally seeing it makes this journey feel considerably more meaningful than an ordinary holiday. I have already been fortunate to visit Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hakodate, yet Sapporo has persistently eluded me. Perhaps it is the snow-covered streets and the quiet atmosphere of Hokkaido that appeal to me, or the chance to encounter a side of Japan beyond its more familiar attractions. I cannot say precisely. What I do find remarkable is that a single destination can remain in one’s thoughts for so long, even as countless other places are discovered along the way. This, I believe, reveals something about our travel personalities. Some journeys are prompted by a fashionable destination or a favorable flight fare, while others arise from years of imagining oneself in a particular place, and from the wish to finally make that vision real. There is a distinctive satisfaction in the latter, for arriving is not merely reaching a location; it is fulfilling an ambition that has accompanied me through several chapters of my life. I would now like to hear about your travel dreams: What would most motivate you to visit your dream destination? I am curious which motivation will prevail. Aside from casting your votes in the poll, if there is a destination you have longed to visit for years, please share in the comments where it is and why it matters to you. It may well inspire another reader to begin planning! Thanks a lot, guys! #polltime

Hi, guys! So, it is commonly assumed that travel is measured by the number of new destinations one accumulates. Yet I find myself returning, time and again, to cities like Shanghai, Singapore, Macau, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Personally, for me, revisiting a city reflects neither a lack of curiosity nor a diminished appetite for adventure. Each return reveals what previous visits overlooked: a quiet neighborhood café, a newly opened attraction, or an unfamiliar perspective on a place I believed I already knew. However, I recognize, of course, that many travelers value the excitement of the unfamiliar, and rightly so. I would therefore like to ask my fellow travelers: what motivates you to revisit a destination rather than explore somewhere new? Cast your votes on the poll below! I am genuinely curious which option will prevail. Is travel fundamentally about discovery, or can a return be equally rewarding? Thanks a lot, guys! #polltime

Winter is almost here, and with the cool breezes starting to greet you, it's time to grab your fluffy, brightly colored coat, find your cute hat or headband, and head out to Tokyo DisneySea! ❄️ Pair your brightly colored outfits with the park's atmosphere, and you're guaranteed amazing, warm, and heartwarming photos. 💖📸 ✨ How is DisneySea different from Disneyland? Unlike Tokyo Disneyland, which focuses on a more classic, fairytale-like, and gentle atmosphere, Tokyo DisneySea is based on the concept of "exploration and adventure in a seaside land." The design features harbor and underwater zones, giving it a vintage, warm, and slightly more romantic feel. 🌊⚓️ 📸 You don't have to ride the rides to enjoy it! Plenty of photo opportunities for content! Let me tell you, this place isn't just about fun rides. The architecture and surrounding atmosphere are incredibly impressive! European-style building corners and vintage lamps: Pose in front of shops like McDuck's and get the feeling of strolling through a beautiful European square 🏛️ Arabian and Mermaid Lagoon Zone: Fantasy architecture castles; every angle is cute and vibrant 🐚✨ Sunset Viewpoint by the Sea: Sit and enjoy the cool breeze while watching boats and the lighthouse in the evening. The atmosphere is incredibly romantic, living up to DisneySea's name 🌅⛵️ 🍡 Must-Try Cute Snacks! After walking around and taking pictures, you have to stop by and satisfy your sweet tooth with "Little Green Dumpling," chewy and delicious with a generous filling, or enjoy a soft-serve ice cream with iconic churros. Holding them together makes for super cute photos 🍦 Hot churros are great for warming you up! If you're planning a trip to Japan at the end of the year, we recommend dressing up in bright colors and creating beautiful content in the cool winter air at Tokyo DisneySea. You're guaranteed to fill your memory card with amazing photos! 🥰❄️✨ #TravelJapan #TokyoDisneySea #disneysea #tokyo #Tokyo #tokyodisneyland

On the final day of a Tokyo trip, when your luggage is bursting with souvenirs and your legs are weary, all you want is a place to sit. If you're at Narita Airport Terminal 2 with time to spare before your flight, keep an eye out for IASS EXECUTIVE LOUNGE 2 on the 4th floor of the Main Building. Located before security, it’s a convenient stop for eligible JCB cardholders before heading home. First, take note of the location: the lounge is on the 4th floor of the Terminal 2 Main Building at Narita International Airport, in the landside area (before security). It is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00. Once you pass through security and enter the departures area, you won't be able to come back out to use it. The best way to plan your visit is to check your flight and check-in times first, finish your check-in procedures, then head upstairs to relax before allowing plenty of time for security and immigration. Whatever you do, don't sacrifice your boarding buffer time just for a quick drink! The lounge offers seating, Wi-Fi, flight updates, and beverages—perfect for organizing your shopping haul, double-checking your itinerary, or simply escaping the airport crowds. Adults can enjoy one complimentary beer, with coffee and soft drinks also available. The real draw here is a peaceful moment before your flight. If you're looking for a full meal, it’s better to dine in the terminal beforehand, as outside food and drinks are not allowed inside. ☕️ There’s a bit of history behind this lounge as well. Its operator, IASS, was founded in 1977 and has been providing airport services since Narita opened in 1978; Terminal 2 itself followed in 1992. As the demand for airport lounge space grew, IASS expanded its offerings. Note that "KoCoo," which opened in 2023, is also on the 4th floor of the Main Building but is located *after* security. To avoid confusion, make sure to check the name and whether it’s before or after security when looking for the entrance. Free entry via JCB comes with specific conditions, so verify your card type before you travel. For instance, with JCB cards issued in Taiwan, the scheme from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, allows Gold, Platinum, and Precious cardholders up to 6 free visits, while Eternity cardholders get up to 8. You must present your physical JCB card and a boarding pass or ticket that matches the name on the card; digital versions or phone displays are not accepted. The offer is for the cardholder only; fees for companions and rules for cards issued in other regions vary, so check with your issuer or the staff on-site. It would be a shame to have the card but forget to bring the physical one! Adding this lounge to your departure routine is a no-brainer: it’s right there in Terminal 2, offers free entry for many card types, and gives you a chance to collect your thoughts and belongings before security. The final leg of your journey doesn't have to be a frantic rush. Sip a drink, confirm your gate, and head to your flight with ease—it’s the perfect way to wrap up your trip. 🧳 📍Location: Narita International Airport Terminal 2 Main Building 4F | IASS EXECUTIVE LOUNGE 2 (Before Security)

Serving as the imperial capital of Japan for over a millennium (from 794 to 1868), Kyoto is the cultural heart of traditional Japanese heritage. Spared the extensive aerial bombing of World War II, the city preserves more than 2,000 Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, imperial palaces, preserved wooden machiya merchant townhouses, and classical dry stone (karesansui) Zen gardens. Key Stops and Scenic Walkways Fushimi Inari-Taisha: Dedicated to the Shinto god of rice and commerce, this shrine is globally famous for its Senbon Torii—thousands of vermilion wooden gates straddling forested mountain paths. The entire loop up Mount Inari takes about 2 to 3 hours, but walking past the lower split tunnels (Yotsutsuji intersection) thins out 80% of the tour groups and opens up panoramic views across southern Kyoto. Arashiyama Bamboo Grove & Tenryu-ji: A towering corridor of vertical bamboo stalks located in the western outskirts along the Oi River. Directly adjacent sits Tenryu-ji, a premier Zen temple featuring a 14th-century landscape garden designed by Muso Soseki, framing Mount Arashiyama using traditional "borrowed scenery" (shakkei). Kiyomizu-dera (Higashiyama): A sprawling wooden temple founded in 778 on the slopes of Mount Otowa. The main hall features an expansive timber stage constructed entirely without nails, projecting 13 meters above the hillside with views over maple canopies toward the city skyline. Below, visitors drink from the three streams of the Otowa Waterfall for health, longevity, or success. Kinkaku-ji (The Golden Pavilion): A Zen Buddhist temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in pure gold leaf. The pavilion sits directly over the Kyoko-chi (Mirror Pond), creating crisp water reflections framed by manicured pine islands. Gion & Ninenzaka/Sannenzaka Preservation Districts: Step through preserved stone-paved alleys lined with traditional timber lattice facades, traditional teahouses (ochaya), and lantern-lit stone staircases leading down from Kiyomizu-dera. Keep an eye out for geiko and maiko heading to evening appointments along Hanami-koji street. Practical Logistics & Route Tips Timing is Everything: Arrive at Fushimi Inari before 07:00 AM and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove before 07:30 AM. By 09:00 AM, both locations become packed with tour groups and foot traffic. Fushimi Inari is open 24/7 with lantern-lit evening paths, making late-night walks atmospheric and quiet. Getting Around (Buses vs. Trains): While city buses cover most sights, Kyoto traffic can cause heavy delays along major corridors like Kawaramachi and Higashiyama. Rely primarily on rail and subway networks: take the JR Sagano Line from Kyoto Station straight to Saga-Arashiyama (15 mins), the JR Nara Line directly to Inari Station (5 mins), and the Keihan Main Line for easy access between Gion-Shijo and southern shrines. Tap through turnstiles using digital IC cards (Suica, Pasmo, or ICOCA). Respecting Historic Districts & Etiquette: Private side alleys across Gion have strict no-photography signs to protect working geiko/maiko and local residents; fines are strictly enforced by local wardens. Always respect private property signs. When entering temple halls and tatami rooms, slip off outdoor shoes and place them in the provided shelves or bags. Keep voices lowered in prayer courtyards. Luggage Forwarding (Takuhaibin): Kyoto’s buses and commuter trains have limited space for oversized rolling suitcases. If traveling from Tokyo or Osaka, forward large luggage directly to your Kyoto hotel via Yamato Transport luggage services at the airport or train station. #Kyoto #VisitKyoto #JapanTravel #ExploreJapan #FushimiInari #Arashiyama #Gion #Kiyomizudera #TripMoments #travel2026#travel#couplestrip#myitinerary
