🍃 As a travel blogger, I have been to many places this year and seen numerous landscapes. These 9 destinations I want to share are also my favorite places this year. Before 2022 ends and 2023 begins, find the right time to go to the places you want to visit, the places you think are worth it. - 1⃣️ Northern Xinjiang As a nature lover, the scenery in Northern Xinjiang captivates me even more—this area is dominated by mountains, grasslands, and river valleys. Representative spots like Hemu, Kanas, Sailimu Lake, the Ghost City, as well as Nalati and Bayinbuluke, are all my top recommended destinations. - 2⃣️ Weihai, Shandong Having become addicted to the seaside, I was amazed by Weihai this year! It not only has beautiful beaches and the sea, but also vibrant coastal parks full of life, and coastal sights like Beishan Street, Torch 8th Street, Naxianghai, and Jinshi Bay that make people exclaim "hidden gems." - 3⃣️ Dongshan Island, Fujian I found that the beauty of Dongshan Island is best appreciated when there are fewer people. The azure sea meets stunning sunsets and breathtaking trailing beaches. Immersed in a dreamy fairy-tale town, enjoying the exclusive Fishbone Sandbar. This place was one of the filming locations for the movie "The Left Ear" and also features mountain and sea wonders that feel like the edge of the world, making me want to return again. - 4⃣️ Wuzhen, Zhejiang I love the cool and less crowded Wuzhen, far from the city's hustle and bustle, immersed in the poetic charm of small bridges, flowing water, and traditional homes. Take a boat ride along the water town stretching for miles or stroll through quiet alleys, admiring ancient houses with white walls and black tiles, stealing a peaceful moment in life. - 5⃣️ Shaoxing, Zhejiang The night view of the moat, the hometown of the calligraphy master Wang Xizhi and literary giant Lu Xun, the beauty of Cangqiao Straight Street, Bazizhi Straight Street, and Anchang Ancient Town. If you don’t visit Shaoxing, you might not truly say you’ve been to the real Jiangnan. - 6⃣️ Shitang, Zhejiang The fishing village town in Zhejiang that looks most like a fairy tale world is Shitang. Dreamy seaside Rainbow Village, the romantically overwhelming Couple Ring Platform, the healing coastal greenway, and the distinctive century-old stone houses. This is the place where the dawn first shines, known as China’s Five Fishing Villages, and also called the Eastern Cape of Good Hope. - 7⃣️ Hangzhou, Zhejiang Seven years have witnessed my passionate love for Hangzhou. Hangzhou is not only about West Lake, the Grand Canal, Xixi Wetland, and Liangzhu Archaeological Park, but also many lesser-known yet treasure-like spots that have blended into every part of my life, worth savoring slowly. - 8⃣️ Jingdezhen, Jiangxi I used to think Jingdezhen was just the "Porcelain Capital," but after coming here, I realized it is beautifully adorned with the atmosphere of history, time, and art. The artistic romance of the Imperial Kiln Museum, the overwhelming artistic vibe of the Bingding Kiln, and the ancient charm of Yaoli Ancient Town... - 9⃣️ Xiangshan, Zhejiang The filming location of the popular variety show "Happy Restart," with stunning sea sunrises, healing sunsets by the sea windmills, and the spectacular volcanic island stone forest—all these beauties belong here.

1️⃣ China does not require a visa. Thai citizens can travel to China without a visa for a maximum stay of 30 days. Before departing, ensure your passport has at least six months of validity and prepare all necessary documents, including hotel reservations, round-trip airfare, and itinerary. You will also need to complete an immigration form to submit to officials for inspection. 2️⃣ Border areas require additional permits. Tourist areas like Kashgar and Urumqi do not require additional permits. However, if you wish to visit areas near the border, such as the Karakoram route (bordering Pakistan), you must apply for a permit and travel with a local guide or tour operator. You cannot travel independently. 3️⃣ You may encounter checkpoints at regular intervals. Xinjiang is highly secure, and tourists encounter frequent checkpoints. Therefore, it is recommended to carry your passport at all times to present to officials. 4️⃣ Choose a hotel that accepts international tourists. Not all hotels are able to accommodate international travelers. Book your stay in advance with a hotel that caters to foreigners. Upon arrival, foreign tourists must register with the police station within 24 hours. Hotels often handle this on their behalf. However, if you're staying with a homestay or a local, you'll need to make your own arrangements. 5️⃣ Respect the diversity of cultures and traditions Xinjiang is a land of diverse ethnicities, so we should respect local customs, especially regarding religion, food, and clothing. Many restaurants in the area are halal and do not serve pork or alcohol. Therefore, please read the signs before ordering. Also, be careful when taking photos. Avoid taking photos of officials or soldiers, and always ask permission before taking photos of people in markets or religious sites. 6️⃣ Understanding "Xinjiang Time" Although the Chinese government uses "Beijing Time" (GMT+8) as the standard time nationwide, locals often refer to "Xinjiang Time," which is two hours behind Beijing Time (GMT+6). As a result, shops, markets, and other places often open later than tourists expect. Always inquire and verify the time to avoid confusion between "Beijing Time" and "Xinjiang Time." 7️⃣ Northern Xinjiang vs. Southern Xinjiang Xinjiang has distinctly different landscapes and cultures from the north and south. Northern Xinjiang boasts beautiful mountains, grasslands, and lakes, with a Central Asian-like atmosphere, making it ideal for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. 🚗48-Hour Four Visits to Nalati Experience Guide|||Nalati is mainly divided into two parts: 1. Sky Prairie (vast grassland + snow-capped mountains + forest + stream in one frame), quite popular. 2. Valley Prairie (including Panlong Ancient Road), vast grassland, Panlong Ancient Road is a one-way mountain road, a three-dimensional landscape of grassland + forest (recommended). Two suggested self-driving tour routes: 1️⃣ Enter the scenic area early in the morning. From May to July, you can basically enter the scenic area at 8 a.m. (if you can stay inside the scenic area, you might get in even earlier). After entering, head straight to the Sky Prairie. At this time, there are fewer nomadic families and Tianjietai people, so if you want to take photos, do it early. Around 9 a.m., tour groups usually start entering the scenic area, and parking spaces become tight during peak season. After visiting the Sky Prairie, go to the Valley Prairie and Panlong Ancient Road. It is strongly recommended to drive around Panlong Ancient Road. 2️⃣ Enter the scenic area in the afternoon, first visit the Valley Prairie and Panlong Ancient Road, which takes about two to three hours. After 7 p.m., go to the Sky Prairie, where there are relatively fewer tourists (but grass sliding ends at this time). If the weather is good, you can even wait inside for a stunning sunset. Who exactly is grass skiing at Nalati? 😭 Queue for 2 hours to ski for 30 seconds, then spend 10 minutes climbing back up. Although I experienced the joy of being lazy like a sheep, the cost was too high. And waiting for the shuttle bus is really painful too 😭 Just at one entrance, you have to wait in a traffic jam for half an hour. At every stop, you have to get off, then queue again to get back on the bus. ... Our last stop in Xinjiang was a day trip to the Nalati Grasslands near Ili. We departed from Yining City and took the highway all the way, with a toll fee of 184 RMB. The entrance ticket to the scenic area, which includes the shuttle bus, costs 135 RMB per person, and the round-trip shuttle to Xuelian Valley is 60 RMB per person. At the scenic area, we chose the Sky Grassland ticket with the shuttle bus. The shuttle stops at three spots on the way up, and on the way down, it goes directly to the visitor center.
