Furong Town is located in Xiangxi, Hunan. You can take the high-speed rail from the New Fenghuang Ancient Town or from Zhangjiajie West Station. It takes about 15 minutes to take a taxi from the high-speed rail Furong Town Station to the Furong Town Scenic Area. You need to pay an entrance fee to arrive at the Furong Town Scenic Area. Furong Town (Yongshun County), formerly known as Wangcun Town, is a town under the jurisdiction of Yongshun County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, China. It was named after the movie "Furong Town" was filmed here. It was renamed Furong Town in 2007. Furong Town is built on both sides of a cliff waterfall, and tourists can stroll from one side of the cliff to the other. If you are visiting Fenghuang Ancient Town, it is recommended that you take a side trip and choose to walk from one side of the cliff to the other side, which takes about an hour to go back and forth. Getting to Furongzhen is easy enough though requires several steps if you don't have your own cae. Coming from Zhangjiajie we took a Didi, the high speed rail and then a taxi to the town. You then have to do the reverse to get back. We actually had to have someone call us a taxi from the scenic area since they aren't readily available and there aren't Didi's there. The attraction itself is pretty great. There are a few hiking trails and the one under the waterfall is pretty cool. We also hiked along the cliffs for a great view of the town and waterfall. There are countless restaurants and shops so you could probably spend the whole day there if you we're into that sort of thing, though be ready to pay for it! Foreigners need there passports to enter but it's easy enough otherwise. We have an 8 month old and brought our striller which was a mistake since there are lots and lots of stairs. If you have a little one I'd suggest bring some kind of baby carrier. Overall, a worthwhile daytrip from Zhangjiajie.#furongzhen #daytrip

Thinking back to the time when I visited Furong Town, the impression was unforgettable. Furong Town was formerly known as "Wangcun Town". It is an ancient town with a history of more than 2,000 years. In the 1980s, the movie "Furong Town" starring Liu Xiaoqing was filmed here, so the name of the town was used as the name of the play.
