Royal Oak Hotel

Food and service was of a great pub standard. Only critisizm being our last meal served being Nachos came out approx 5-10 min later than all the ther mains in our group of 6. Understand the pub is a Muso venue but more dinner appropriate music would have been nicer to be able to chat comfortably over dinner period and not compete with the live music. Overall great experience. Hope this was constructive.

What a great pub awesome staff. Locked in a s a go too forever. Can’t explain the pub you have to go there to see and feel it you won’t be disappointed!

The Royal Oak has so much character. The service was exceptionally efficient and we were really looked after. The food was great and we will come again!

I always like the Royal Oak, it has seen better days, but it really only needs a very minor cosmetic spruce-up to return to being its best self once more (a lick of paint on some of the more worn-out bits? And yes, I get that it is supposed to look rustic - I love it!) It does have a very comfortable feeling and the staff are always wonderful. I don't know who does the hiring, but after years of it being our local pub, we have only ever known everybody there to be really lovely and helpful. It quite casual dresswise, but if you happen to be dressed up you won't feel out of place. A very relaxed and inclusive venue. The food is always fairly regular pub food and sometimes you get a standout dish. For me, the prices are always pretty good too. I ALWAYS want to go there when I want to feel welcomed and comfy. Highly recommended!
