梅理熊[Taste] Recommended chestnut cake, worthy of Emperor Franz's love, creamy and delicate. Fruit pie and a dessert shaped like fried cake, average
[Environment] Bad Ischl is a small city with few tourists. It was drizzling the day we went there, and the whole town was quiet, but this dessert shop was very popular, with many diners lining up around the large counter, including tourists and locals. When ordering, confirm with the staff whether you want to eat in. If you eat in, you will be given a number, and the waiter will deliver the food accordingly
[Service] There were too many people, the counter was on the first floor, and the dining area was inside. The tables and chairs were placed very closely, and the service was average

Bad Ischl is a spa town in Austria, located in the center of the Salzkammergut region in the south of Upper Austria, on the banks of the Traun River, surrounded by the Ischl and Traun Rivers. In 1849, Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph chose to build a summer palace here. On August 19, 1853, Franz Joseph and Princess Sissi held the famous engagement ceremony in the movie Princess Sissi at the Hotel Austria (now the Municipal Museum) here. In 1854, the emperor's mother Sophie gave him the Emperor's Villa as a wedding gift. In addition to the romantic place that Sher is familiar with, it is also the place where the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Joseph signed a declaration of war against Serbia in 1914, kicking off the cruel First World War. Because it is a place to rest at night during the itinerary, there is not enough time to play, so I had to get up early and take a quick tour. The town is quiet and peaceful in the early morning, and the lights reflect the clear river water. After passing Hotel Austria, Bad Ischl Parliament and Kongress & Theaterhaus, and looking up along the Pfarrgasse cobblestone road, you will see the famous Zauner Royal Dessert Shop, which was founded in 1832. The cakes here are the favorite desserts of Emperor Franz Joseph. The building is painted in bright pink, allowing guests to experience the romance of more than a hundred years ago. The colorful desserts in the cabinets are mouth-watering. The orange post office in the center of the town can't help but remind people of the funny plot in the movie Princess Sissi. I wonder if such a funny thing really happened back then. Due to limited time, the residence of the king of operetta, Franz Leha, LeharvillaMuseum, can only be seen from a distance.
Royal century-old dessert shop Konditorei Zauner~ The cakes here are the favorite desserts of Emperor Franz and Princess Sissi~ The business is quite good~ [Environment] The indoor dining area is relatively large, and there are not many outdoor tables~ The star dish is chestnut cake. As long as you say chestnut, there are more than a dozen types to choose from~ I bought 2 pieces, and they tasted good~
The Royal Bakery in Bad Ischl has stunning cakes and breathtaking scenery. Joining the locals in singing and dancing outside the bakery—the combination of delicious food and beautiful scenery is truly an unforgettable escape!
🇦🇹Many people head straight for Hallstatt or St. Wolfgang in the Austrian Lake District. However, Bad Ischl is widely recognized as the region's most powerful transportation hub. After a few days there, I compiled this guide to easily explore the lake district! ✅Bad Ischl offers frequent train and bus services, making it easy to explore multiple destinations in one day. 1️⃣ Bad Ischl → Hallstatt Train: Approximately 20 minutes, one-way, undiscounted, costs 7 euros. At Hallstatt train station, you'll need to transfer to a ferry (a separate round-trip ticket costs 7 euros) to the town on the other side. Bus: Route 542 to route 543 (recommended). 🌟 Use the Upper Austria Leisure Ticket and check bus schedules on the app. 2️⃣ Bad Ischl → St. Wolfgang Bus: Route 542 direct, approximately 30 minutes, terminating at St. Wolfgang Lake Pier. 🌟We recommend taking bus No. 150 to St. Gilgen and then transferring to a ferry (leisure tickets available). The boat cruise across Lake Wolfgang is breathtakingly beautiful (about 10 euros one way). 3️⃣ Bad Ischl → Gosau Bus: Bus No. 542 goes directly to Lake Gosau (terminus). The ride takes about 40 minutes, with breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and pastures along the way! Lake Gosau was a filming location for "The Sound of Music," and hiking and cycling are incredibly relaxing. 4️⃣ Bad Ischl → Salzburg Train: Directly in 1.5 hours or take bus No. 150 (Salzburg regional ticket required). Mozart's hometown is easily accessible! ✨ Must-See Attractions & Restaurants in Bad Ischl 1️⃣ Imperial Heritage: Kaiser's Villa This is where Princess Sissi and Emperor Franz Joseph got engaged! This neoclassical summer palace is now a museum, and its back gardens are a filming destination. Admission is about 12 euros, and it's open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 2️⃣ Lehar Museum The former residence of Franz Lehar, composer of the operetta "The Merry Widow," houses his manuscripts and personal belongings. Music lovers shouldn't miss it. 3️⃣ Riverside Stroll The crystal-clear waters of the Traun River, lined with macaron-colored houses, create a fairytale world. The golden leaves and snow-capped mountains complement each other, creating a picture perfect for a postcard. 4️⃣ Zauner Desserts A century-old dessert shop beloved by Princess Sissi! Their chestnut cakes and chocolates are their signature creations, and the riverside branch offers a great view while you enjoy the view. Dessert lovers can try the hot springs, as I personally find them too sweet. 5️⃣ Spa Therapy The town is famous for its salt springs. The salt water baths and modern spas are worth a try. Relax in the waters after a long day of sightseeing. 🚗 Transportation Tips: 🎫 Tickets: We recommend purchasing the Upper Austria Leisure Ticket, which costs 24.9€/day for two adults and four children. The e-ticket doesn't need to be printed, and credit cards are accepted. You can purchase directly on Ctrip or the app, and be sure to select the valid time. ⚠️ 📦 Luggage: Luggage is free on both trains and buses, with no additional charge. ⏰ Schedule: Check the ÖBB app in advance. Weekend service may be reduced, and buses are punctual, so be sure to check in on time. #TheMostCompleteTravelGuide #NannyLevelTravelPhotographyGuide #TheMostAskedAboutSpots #EuropeTravel #FirstTimeEuropeTravelGuide #
