Relaxing evenings. It depends on whether you can drink at a fast or slow pace. This was my first time trying David's drinks. He's said to be the 2013 World Bartender of the Year. There were four drinks on the menu, but I only tried two that interested me. 1. A Negroni twist: cold brew coffee + sherry wine. 2. A Martini twist: mango 🥭 flavor, topped with a basil leaf. I personally felt the coffee Negroni was more common, without many surprises. The mango Martini was quite interesting, with a beautiful balance of floral and fruity notes and herbal 🌿 flavors. Each flavor was palatable, and none of them overpowered. Only after leaving did I realize I should have ordered a master-made Dry Martini! Guest cocktails always make you look forward to the specials on the menu. But often, the true soul of wine lies in the classics. I left in a hurry and didn't get to try Paper Plane's new menu. Room B1107, No. 17, East Third Ring Road North, Chaoyang District, Beijing The space isn't huge, but there are plenty of large tables, perfect for a fun time. The bar is located in Sanlitun, on the basement level of a nearby office building, so it can be a little hard to find. I went on a weekday evening, so it was pretty empty. The bartenders are very welcoming, willing to chat and offer recommendations. The menu is organized by flavor, with many interesting names and combinations. Overall, it's a good bar, though a bit hidden. Pear Blossoms with Rain: A very soft drink, but very good, with a tea-like flavor, sweet fruit, and a slightly astringent tonic. Touch Your Face: A strong drink, the bartender said it was around 30% proof. It has a slight sweetness, thanks to the hazelnuts and chocolate, but the alcohol is the main flavor.
