qy云上As an old Chengdu person, I ate Chenma Caotang first. This flagship store often has a queue. This time I came mainly to bring foreign friends to eat. The environment is very good, with an ancient flavor. There is also guzheng accompaniment on the second floor, which is quite a feeling. The service is also very good. The dishes are really Sichuan cuisine. It is indeed suitable for bringing friends from other places to eat. Foreign friends like it very much.

"Chen Mapo Tofu" is one of the most local specialties in Chinese tofu dishes, and has become a world-famous Sichuan cuisine. This dish has a history of more than 150 years and is the most representative Sichuan cuisine. This dish is characterized by the "burning" method. On the snow-white and tender tofu, brown-red minced beef and green garlic sprouts are dotted, and a circle of translucent red oil is around, like jade inlaid with amber, with a unique flavor of numbing, spicy, hot, tender, crisp, fragrant and fresh.
I came to visit the Sichuan Museum and happened to eat Chen Mapo across the street. This Chen Mapo Tofu is the flagship store. It is very popular and you have to queue up for dozens of people to eat. The environment inside is very good, and the layout is not cramped. It is very comfortable and cozy. Mapo Tofu is of course a must-order. It is indeed authentic. I didn't finish it because it was too spicy. The garlic pork is also highly recommended. It is difficult to eat authentic this dish in other cities. This is good, large in quantity, and tastes good. In fact, what I want to recommend most is the steamed beef with rice flour. There are a lot of sweet potatoes underneath, and the steamed pork with rice flour on top is very oily. The sweet potatoes absorb the oil, so the beef will not be too greasy. In short, it was a good food experience. It was worth waiting in line for half an hour.
A classmate who settled overseas came back to visit his family. We recommended a lot of delicious food to him, but he wanted to eat Chen Mapo Tofu. So we went to this flagship store. Business was booming. We couldn't book a private room 3 days in advance. 14 people finally squeezed into a table for 10 people by adding stools. We went there at 5 pm, and we had to queue up at 6 pm. After sitting down, I started ordering dishes. I estimated that the fighting power of 14 people should be very strong. I ordered 14 dishes and 1 soup. In the end, it turned out that I overestimated my fighting power. At least half of it was not finished. I will be more careful next time. The signature Chen Mapo Tofu was only a small pot, but it was the last to be served. It was soaked in red oil, and the seasoning reminded me of the instant noodles I ate when I was a child. It was amazing. It is said that the best thing about this store is its special tofu. Anyway, my mother went to the vegetable market several times and couldn't buy such delicious tofu. The crispy tofu with batter was sweet and sour, and the tomato sauce used made me think it was the way to make bear paw tofu, but it was not. The taste is also OK. Compared with a table of spicy dishes, this can adjust the taste. The tofu pudding beef fillet is very classic. The beef slices are large and tender, the tofu is smooth, and there are Sanzi. The whole is spicy and spicy, and the portion is sufficient. The tomato three fresh is more like a soup dish, with meat slices, tomato slices and tofu strips. It is still very delicious. I drank a bowl. The taste on the tip of the tongue is like a pig house soaked in a basin as big as a washbasin. Each piece is surrounded by a pile of green peppercorns. This is the most delicious. Although the portion is small, the taste is good and impressive. Mapo fresh pepper fish is actually fish fillet, similar to the way of boiled fish, with a base of vegetarian dishes, the taste is very good, and the portion is full. The dry pot chicken is also a pot of piles, but don’t be scared by the appearance. There are enough potatoes and a little less chicken. The taste is very good, but compared with the dishes made with tofu pudding, it is not so eye-catching. The Sichuan pepper rabbit cubes are deep-fried rabbit meat. Because of the Sichuan pepper, it has a charming peppery and spicy aroma. I think it is very suitable for drinking. I ate a lot of it with chrysanthemum tea. Fuqi Feipian, a typical Sichuan dish, is not bad. The osmanthus honey marinated lotus root is also well done, especially the thick layer of osmanthus sugar sauce, which can be said to be the best dessert to relieve the spiciness. The crispy bamboo shoots and kidneys are the most unsightly of the dishes I ordered. They are not bamboo shoots like wild bamboo shoots, but more like the taste of square bamboo shoots used for cold salad. The fried kidneys are tender and delicious, and there is no smell of mutton. This is a treasure dish, I will order it next time. The stir-fried yellow beef is still very delicious, a dish that meets the standard. The lotus leaf steamed pork is more ordinary, meeting the standard. The health-preserving bone soup is a super large pot, and 14 people didn’t really finish it... I tried to add soup for free a second time, but I didn’t finish the first pot. Sichuan cold noodles, this tastes good, but ordering it really overwhelmed the meal. While we were waiting for the meal, there was a tea art performance. The waiter with a super long teapot made sure to pour a cup of tea for every customer at every table. He had too many tricks, such as white crane wings, sword-drawing style, and sword-carrying style. I think it's super fun, haha. 14 dishes, 1 soup, plus dry food, the actual price is 670 yuan. We ordered a pot of chrysanthemum tea for 68, which is really not worth it. I knew I would drink soup or a bowl of long wonton for each person. But seeing that the average cost per person is less than 60, I think it is really cost-effective. It is not convenient to park here. You can park in the underground parking lot of Huanhuaxi Park opposite
Today a friend came to Chengdu, and we walked into the very familiar Chen Mapo Tofu Qinghua Road store again. We reserved a booth in advance, otherwise there would be no seat if we came on short notice. We ordered a few of our favorite dishes: camphor tea duck, twice-cooked pork, tofu fish, husband and wife lung slices, vegetables and soup. The average consumption per person was 50 yuan. My friend was very satisfied with the environment and dishes of Chen Mapo store.
I really like Chen Mapo Tofu Qinghua Road Branch. The decoration inside the store is very special, reflecting the characteristics of the western Sichuan basin and the strong Chengdu flavor: various lanterns, bamboo bird cages, wooden boats hanging in the air, sculptures of tofu pudding, etc. All of these are unforgettable. Of course, the dishes here are cheap and delicious, attracting countless diners. Every day until three or four o'clock in the afternoon, there are still many people queuing here waiting for meals. It's amazing that the restaurant has such a hot business!
This restaurant is not far from Du Fu Thatched Cottage, so I came here directly after visiting Du Fu Thatched Cottage. I arrived at the restaurant at about 12 o'clock and had already started waiting for a table (not on weekends). I ordered the signature mapo tofu, husband and wife lung slices, and mao xuexue. My favorite is the husband and wife lung slices, which I think is the best I have ever eaten. It melts in your mouth. The mao xuexue was a huge pot, but I didn't eat it in the end.
When you walk into Chen Mapo Tofu Qinghua Road Store, the first thing you see is a sculpture of a man pushing a stone-milled tofu on a dam in western Sichuan. Go up the stairs to the second floor, and you will see unique decorations: big red lanterns of various shapes, bamboo bird cages, small boats hanging in the air, gray bricks and green tiles, etc. Most importantly, the dishes here are delicious and tasty!
